Your Support Helped Israa Grow Strong Again!

By Baraa Ali | Fundraising Officer

Dear Supporter,

Six months ago, little Israa was too weak to sit up on her own. Today, she is playing beside her younger brother—because you chose to help.

Across the camps of northern Syria, poverty and food insecurity have left many families unable to provide their children with the nutritious food they need. As a result, malnutrition continues to threaten children’s health, development, and, in the most severe cases, their lives.

When SEMA’s medical team first met Israa, she was only six months old and suffering from severe malnutrition. Her face was pale, her body was extremely weak, and she was experiencing serious digestive problems. Without timely care, her condition could have led to lasting physical and developmental complications.

Thanks to your generous contributions, our team was able to provide Israa with the treatment, nutritional support, and regular follow-up she urgently needed.

Over the following months, she gradually regained her strength. Six months later, the fragile baby who could not sit up was active, smiling, and playing with her little brother.

Dear Supporter, your donation helped make this transformation possible. Your compassion did more than provide treatment—it gave a vulnerable child the strength to grow, play, and experience childhood again.

Israa is one of dozens of malnourished children reached through your support. Yet many more children are still waiting for the nourishment and medical care they need.

Thank you for standing with children like Israa. With your continued support, we can reach them before weakness becomes a medical emergency—and give every child the chance to grow up healthy, strong, and full of hope.

Together, we are turning hunger into healing and vulnerability into strength.
