Three Lamps for Two Offer this June 12th!

Dear Supporters,
You have helped to change the lives of so many young people in the Sundarbans. So many like Kakoli, Hosonara, Pulak and Sheikh Golam who along with their families have a better life today. It is amazing how a solar lamp has transformed lives! Today each student who has been given a solar lamp studies by its steady, powerful light, the family saves over 4% of their annual income from not having to buy kerosene and the fragile ecosystem of the Sundarbans experiences lower carbon emission.
A wonderful opportunity comes your way on Bonus Day, June 12, 2013 when for every two solar lamps you donate, GlobalGiving will provide funds for one! Every donation will be matched at 50%.

276 students receive solar lamps!

Dear Supporter,
We are pleased to let you know that 276 students in the islands of K-Plot and Maipith in the Sundarbans were provided with solar lamps in March 2013.
On 23 March 76 students on K-Plot island were handed over the solar lamps at a ceremony organized by a local organization that is assisting with this endeavor. On 24 March 200 solar lamps were handed over to students on Maipith Island at a ceremony organized by Baikunthapur Tarun Sangha, our project partner. All the students who received the lamps have been inducted into ASED’s youth nature leadership program, the Green Rhinos Program.
The joy the students felt can be seen in the photograph!

An exciting opportunity comes our way on Bonus Day is on March 13, 2013!!

Dear Donors,
300 deserving students will receive solar lamps on 16 and 17 March 2013!! In addition they will be inducted into the Green Rhinos Program to create youth nature leaders http://www.globalgiving.org/projects/create-10-000-youth-nature-leaders-in-india/ .
An exciting opportunity for receiving matching funds from GlobalGiving comes our way on March 13, 2013 when all donations made on that day will be matched at 30%!! A great way to get more lamps to needy students!
There is $50,000 available in matching and there is a $1,000 bonus award for the most individual donors and another for the most money raised.
Matching begins at 9 am EST and lasts until funds run out or 11:59 pm.
For India, matching will start at 6.30 pm on March 13 and end at 5.29 pm on March 14, 2013.
