Meeting with our high school students
Time and again, research has proven the incredible power of education to break poverty cycles and economically empower individuals from the most marginalized communities with dignified work and upward social mobility.
With this in mind, I would like to thank you all for your commitment and efforts in supporting vulnerable students to get an education. High school education is costly for vulnerable families and most of the children from these families do not have the opportunity to go to high school.
We are very grateful for what you are doing in their lives. We have sixty (60) students in different high schools, and three quarters graduated from Brightsmile Primary and a quarter from other schools but they are all supported by the Tumaini Miles of Smiles sponsorship program.
We had a great meeting with them; they brought their report cards and we are very impressed with their performances. Most of them are with great grades and we are expecting good results at the end.
We had counselors, social workers, and psychologists who talked to them and they were helped, they had several questions and they were satisfied with the help they were given from our staff. They all received a back-to-school pack and pocket money for their upkeep. They were all happy and were very ready to go back to school.
This is why we value you all, you have saved lives, talent, and many things that would have ended up in pits. You have made a big difference in these lives and words will never be enough to express what you have done. Without your support, prayers, and commitment these students would not be where they are and Tumaini wouldn’t have achieved its goals. Once again thank you.
We still have many students out there who have support, they have not joined high school and they are languishing in poverty and hopelessness. It is always our prayer that you consider sharing your great work with family and friends to build up this program. We have a heap of files of children who need support and some are not going to school. We would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you
