HAPPY NEW YEAR!

At long last we are here!

The year 2020 was a monumental year! Amidst all that is happening in the world, we want to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for being such a critical part of our mission to bring lasting and positive change to the lives of orphaned, poor, vulnerable children and women. We are so grateful for you all for helping us manage an unprecedented year of obstacles.

Our school were closed for 7 months and all the children stayed home.  We are happy to report that all the students in our support program from primary school, high school, colleges and universities are well and safe. We have not had any cases except for one student who lost his guardian. All our students have reported back to school.

We hosted an alumni meeting and we had more than 60 students who graduated primary school at Tumaini Miles of Smiles School.  It was amazing to see the impact you have made in the lives of our learners.  More than 36 learners are enrolled in different universities in Kenya.  The first group will be graduating the end of this year.  Fifty students are in Technical schools, 20 are undertaking different courses in different colleges and others are in businesses.  This was encouraging to hear their stories after primary school.

For the last eight months we were involved in different outreach programs and this gave us an opportunity to visit widows, parents and guardians to our children and other needy families in the community.  This was an eye opener for Tumaini, we learned a lot of during the visits and this will help the organization work well within the community.   During the house to house visitation we realized that we have more widows in our community than we ever expected. This means we have so many children out there who are not able to go to school and cannot access quality education that can help them bring a change in the community.   We believe Tumaini is here to bring lasting positive change and we believe there is light ahead.

We are sad to report that this project has no funds coming in, but we are still encouraged that we have YOU!  We don’t have any other person out there, we have you. YOU have changed lives, you have seen all these orphans and needy children grow! They are now young men and women!  Who knew they would even step at a university door!  BUT they have because of YOU!

Kindly share the good work you are doing with family members and friends, let them know you have sponsored a student since primary school and now they are graduating university!  Let them know what you are doing in the lives of the need and the orphaned!  Your names are all over!

Renew your heart for Tumaini!

Thank you for your generosity!

With gratitude and love
