1) School

After enrolling the children in schools, we have to accompany them in the assimilation of the knowledge provided at school. This work was assessed by the outcome of the end of first term report cards on 16 December 2022. We have children who have worked well, others whose work was average and others who need to make a lot of effort. After the first term assessment session with the children and the subsequent counselling, we hope to have better results for everyone in term 2.

2) GivingTuesday campaign

In order to provide for the needs of the center, we participated in the GivingTuesday campaign which took place on Tuesday 29 November 2022. The proceeds of this campaign have obviously enabled us to complete the school fees of all the children. Once again, we take the opportunity of this report to thank you, who believe in this project.

3) School sponsorship of little Nadège by Mr Georges

Nadège is a vulnerable child whose family are going through extremely difficult and precarious times: lack of financial means, illnesses, promiscuity, etc. Faced with this situation and the limited means of the Centre and the fact that the AGAPE Centre already takes care of 2 children from this same family, we launched an SOS in favour of this child. Mr Georges, member of Ladies Care Association in Douala Cameroon, agreed to ensure the schoolling of this child at least for this year. Nadège, whom you see in the picture, is one of thousands in the city of Douala.

I also invite you to see the shelters in which the families live. Our young people are increasingly in need of support.

4) Ange's interview with the children of the AGAPE Centre

Ange is a young man who has experienced the street, precariousness and difficult living conditions. He believed in himself and benefited from the help of Nadya who is now part of the AGAPE Team. Ange is now in Canada where he works as a car mechanic. He was invited to the AGAPE Centre to share his experience with other young people at the Centre so that they can believe and not sink into defeatism or fatality. In life, EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

5) Setting up a vegetable garden

Our partner SOLENCA, through the French civic service, sent a young French lady Mathilde to set up a vegetable garden. Mathilde will stay with us in the center for a total of 6 months. The garden that she will put together will be used to grow cassava, fresh corn, macabo, Ndolè, etc

6) Development of a playground

A space has been set up to allow young people to have fun outside the centre. They can run, jump and play ball.

7) Drilling and external toilet thank you the support of ORANGE Foundation (a transnational French company)

ORANGE has decided to accompany us In order to facilitate the living conditions at the AGAPE Centre. What a relief! We have started work on the construction of a borehole and an external toilet block. This work has enabled us to provide the AGAPE Centre with water through the borehole that has already been drilled. Subsequently, we began the construction of a water tower. For the moment, only the invert has been poured. A foundation for the construction of an external toilet block has also been laid. These works are making the operation of the Centre more convenient and also facilitate other construction works. Neighbours in the neighbourhood also use it in their homes.

8) Christmas Tree Ceremony

In order to allow the children to take an active part and feel involved in the end-of-year celebrations, the AGAPE Centre organised a Christmas tree ceremony. This ceremony saw the participation of children from a special school called "Les Brillants". They work are focused in the area of special need children and their presence made the celebration even more beautiful.
