Thanks to your compassionate gift, Lakshay is the newest girl to join the safe house. This young girl used to live in the red-light districts. She was born and raised in the brothels because her mother is a sex worker. When they got kicked out of their home, they had nowhere to go.

Lakshay’s mother wanted a better life for her child. Your gift provided a way out of the red-light districts. You gave Lakshay a day of safety, rescue, and care. Lakshay was surrounded by violence and abuse, but now she gets to play and have fun with the other girls in the home.

You made this all possible! She is learning English and receiving a quality education. Your gift saved a child like Lakshay and provided her with nutritious meals, a safe place to sleep, and an excellent education. Today Lakshay is thriving. She is a friendly and adorable girl who has bright future ahead of her thanks to you!

Your gifts provide life-changing opportunities for the women and children that have been trafficked into the sex trade. It is a horrible life and after a period of intense oppression and abuse people mentally normalize their behavior and escape becomes nearly impossible when they see no way out and life must go on. It takes devoted personal attention, by trained dedicated professionals to Rescue trafficked women & children in India.

While there recently I interviewed a lady named Girija, she had been trafficked into the Red Light District as a teenager. She had been cheated, drugged and raped, then beaten and oppressed until she had no will to live.  For years she was trapped in the Red Light District a slave to the atrocities of those who would use her mercilessly.

Two years ago Girija was invited to our Drop-In Centre.  There she received medical attention, did group counseling with other women and attended reading lessons.  Slowly her self-image improved, she gave up trying to escape reality through excessive drinking.  She stopped believing the lies, and in time, decided that she no longer needed to be abused on a daily basis by those who despised her.

Recently she walked away from the trade.  Your support helped make the difference! 

Girija has started her own business preparing breakfast for people commuting by train.  She has less income than before but since she’s no longer trapped by alcohol, she has sufficient income for a simple life.Your sacrificial gifts make this possible, together we are working to Rescue trafficked women & children in India, helping these women and their children find freedom from the bondage of being trafficked.

I'm so excited to share about how your gift is changing lives for women and children in the red-light district. Thank you for your compassionate support to Rescue trafficked women and children in India.

Because of you, 181 women and 121 children residing in the red-light communities were served in the last quarter. You are making a big difference for families living in poverty and trapped in sexual slavery.

We recently built a brand new safe house to help more girls and it finally opened it's doors to all the children and staff. One of the girls that your gift is helping is Madira. She was rescued and now she is safe thanks to you.

Madira* and the rest of the girls in the safe house were filled with so much joy and excitement. When the doors to the brand new safe house opened, they looked around in awe and their wide grins stretched across their cute faces.

“I’m thankful that I live here and that I’m safe. Thank you for providing such a beautiful house. Thank you for everything you’ve given us,” says Madira*.

Your generous gift made it possible to build a new and bigger safe house for girls rescued from India’s red-light districts. The previous home was smaller and slowly reaching its capacity to help more children. Your gift made it possible for the current girls to have more space to live and grow. And the new home also enables us increase capacity so that more girls can get rescued in the future.

“It’s like a palace,” reports one of our staff members who cut the ribbon during a joyous housewarming ceremony.

*Garati is an outgoing, bright and adorable 6-year old girl. She was born and raised in India’s dangerous red-light districts, but today, she is safe and living in a better place thanks to you. As the newest child in the safe house, Garati was welcomed with joy.

Because of your gift, Garati has a safe place to sleep every night. She is receiving food, clothing, counseling, medical care and an excellent education at a nearby school.

Garati grew up surrounded by violence and abuse because her mother is a sex worker. Garati’s mother struggled to care for her daughter. She barely made enough to support the family. She wanted a better life for her child so she brought Garati to the safe house. Imagine your children or grand children growing up in that situation. 

Thanks to you children like Garati are being rescued from India's red-light districts and are now living in a safe house. Your gift is making a tremendous difference in the lives of women and children trapped in the life of a sexual slavery. Today Garati is happy to be in the safe house. Whenever her mother visits the safe house, she sees a visible change in her daughter. Garati is an intelligent and happy girl who loves learning.      Thank you for your help in providing children and women with a life of safety away from India's red-light districts. Your gift is making a tremendous difference in the lives of women and children trapped in the life of a sexual slave. Over the past few months, 131 women and 162 children living in the Red Light Districts have been helped. Thank you for being a vital part of this work.

     Sorrowfully, not every child is able to leave the Red-Light District. Oftentimes mothers don’t grasp the importance of getting their children out. Plus they want them close by because, they are after all, their children. For every child we are able to help get out there are probably 20 still in the Red Light District. Laxmi* is one such child. 

     Laxmi lives in an urban slum entrenched in poverty. Families live in small cinderblock and sheet metal homes surrounded by filth and sexual abuse. It is a toxic and unhealthy environment for anyone, and especially a child, but sadly this is Laxmi’s home.

     Laxmi loves school. But with an illiterate mother and chaotic home life, she has little chance to excel in the extremely competitive Indian school system. But you are giving her the chance to learn and keep up with her classmates. Right outside the Red Light District, India Partners maintains a Learning Centre. Here children are able to come before and after school, they receive a meal and are helped with their homework (tuitions). 

     Laxmi is a bright and eager 12-year old girl; she now has a chance to succeed. She is able to stay in school and is getting an education because of people like you. When we work together we can change lives even in the most difficult places.
