Your gifts provide life-changing opportunities for the women and children that have been trafficked into the sex trade. It is a horrible life and after a period of intense oppression and abuse people mentally normalize their behavior and escape becomes nearly impossible when they see no way out and life must go on. It takes devoted personal attention, by trained dedicated professionals to Rescue trafficked women & children in India.
Your gifts make this possible. Over the past few months 131 women and 162 children living in the Red Light Districts have been helped. Thank you for being a vital part of this work.
Usha* was trafficked into Mumbai years ago from a village in North India. She was subjected to an awful life, if you can call it life, by men who abused her. To cope she drinks nightly to erase the pain and memories, but every morning they are still there.
The IP women counselors come each day to the Red-Light District. They encourage her and train her; she is enrolled in the sewing school and she is learning to read and write. Today she is stuck in the trade but slowly she is gaining confidence that she can thrive outside the Red-Light District.
Usha has a glimmer of hope. A smile, a laugh that sneaks out as she tells of the hope that she is beginning to grasp. It is a long difficult journey.
Breaking free from the bondages that bind her takes time, when she reaches the critical survival level, she can slip away from this place, enter a safe house and never come back.
Your sacrificial gifts make this possible, together we are working to Rescue trafficked women & children in India, helping these women and their children find freedom from the bondage of being trafficked.
With you, and Usha, in the struggle against human-trafficking,
John

Dear friend,
Over the past few months, 131 women and 162 children residing in Mumbai's red-light districts were helped. Your gift is making a tremendous difference in the lives of women and children trapped in a life of sexual slavery.
The women and children have benefited from counseling, pre-schools, remedial classes, medical interventions, feeding programs, fun clubs, and weekly gatherings.
Your gift has helped vulnerable children in the red-light districts by giving them a place to escape from the dangers of the Red Light District. Children like Pinki are doing so well because of your gift.
Pinki’s mother was trafficked to Mumbai at the age of 13. She was tricked into coming to Mumbai with a promise of helping in the home of a businessman, and continuing her education but was immediately trafficked into the Red Light District. After a few years of suffering with daily abuse she then became pregnant. From conception Pinki’s life was one of suffering. She grew up hidden under the bed while her mother worked, or wandering the streets in panties when she was lucky.
Her mother received counseling from our workers and agreed that the best thing for Pinki was to grow up in our Children’s Home. When Pinki first moved into our home, she was physically weak and moody. She was used to roaming around without clothes or proper food. She was lacking the nurture and stability needed for a child of her age.
Pinki has now started school, YEAH! She was first home schooled as she was not able to cope up with the rigors of an English Medium education but she has now joined with the other girls and is doing well in her studies.
Thank you so much for serving women and children living in the red-light districts. Your gift truly makes a difference and gives hope to people who suffer in such a dark and broken place.
To help more children and women in Mumbai's red light districts, you can give a gift today! You will be changing their lives forever by providing them with a safe place to live. Encourage your friends and coworkers to join you. Take a moment and change the life of a child like Pinki. Rescue trafficked women & children in India.

You are making a lifesaving difference for women and children in India! Thanks for helping a woman like Ritu.
Ritu’s father died when she was in the second grade. Her mother was unable to care for her, so she was sent to live with an aunt. The aunt raised Ritu faithfully and provided food, clothing, shelter and education. But at the age of 16, Ritu went to back to her mother and was forced to get married. Her husband beat and abused her. Ritu was desperate to leave her abusive situation. One of her neighbors knew of a job in the city and suggested that Ritu take it. Ritu’s life was a nightmare, so she fled to Mumbai.
Her nightmare only became a new chapter. Upon arrival in Mumbai, her neighbor took her to a hotel and sold her. She had been trafficked! Her first night was terrible. She could not believe what just happened to her. She tried to run away, but there were guards everywhere. The oppression and abuse were horrible. Ritu began drinking, smoking and taking drugs to kill the pain in her heart, soul and mind. She remained in this situation for years. Life in the Red Light District slowly controlled her—at times she thought she was insane.
One day she met Aanya, a trained India Partners counselor. Aanya began counseling her and helping her to remember everything she learned when she was a child. Aanya helped Ritu mentally and emotionally. Aanya taught her to first change her mental paradigm and prepared Ritu to escape her slavery. Finally, Ritu was able to escape the suffering of a trafficked woman.
Thank you so much for serving women and children living in the red-light districts. Your gift truly makes a difference and gives hope to people who suffer in such a dark and broken place.

Dear Friend,
Thank you for your help in providing children and women with a day of safety from India's red-light distrticts. Your gift is making a tremendous difference in the lives of women and children trapped in a life of sexual slavery. Over the past few months, 151 women and 195 children residing in the brothels were helped through various programs.
You are making a lifesaving difference for women and children in India! Thanks for helping a woman like Deepa.
When Deepa was 10 years old, she was married off and sent away to live with her husband and in-laws. The family she married into didn't treat her well and often abused her. One day, she decided to run away and the rickshaw driver took her to a place where she was sold into the red-light area. She was only 12 years old. She tried to escape, but she failed each time. Deepa was forced into the trade and managed to escape a few years later. But sadly, she just ended up in a different red-light district.
It took our staff some time develop a good relationship with Deepa. She was very depressed and didn't want any help. But over time Deepa opened up. She came by our weekly health clinics for some medical care because she suffered from Hepatitis B. She would always receive a nutritious meal and she brought her child in to get much needed medical care as well. Over a period of time, their health got better and they started to feel well. Deepa now has hope in her life and feels grateful for the help she received for her and her family.
Special opportunity! Right now you have a chance to change more lives in India. One of our photos was selected for Global Giving's 2015 Photo Contest. Vote now and help us win $1,000 to help more orphans in India receive an education. Voting will just take a minute of your time.
Sincerely,
John Sparks
Thank you for your help in providing children and women with a day of safety from India's red-light distrticts. You are making a lifesaving difference for women in children in India!
*Nadi became a widow when she was only 19 years old. With little money, she started cleaning houses but she was barely making enough. One day her neighbor promised her a high-paying job in the big city. Nadi left with the hope of a better life, but her neighbor deceived her. Nadi’s neighbor was actually a pimp! He trafficked her into Mumbai and sold Nadi in the brothels, where she was forced to work.
Nadi was abused daily and couldn’t escape. Customers would beat her and the man she lived with would abuse her and steal each night’s meager income.
This wasn’t the life she wanted. When Nadi became pregnant, she wanted something better for her child, *Jiya.
You provided that better life. Counselors often encouraged Nadi, cared for her, and monitored her health at the weekly medical clinics.
Your gift rescued Nadi from nightly beatings and abuse. Today, she and her child each live in a safe house. She looks forward to having a place of her own where she and Jiya can live.
Your support saves women like Nadi and gives them the encouragement and counseling they need. Nadi worked in the brothels for many years, and she finally made the courageous decision to get out. Because of you, now she lives in a safe house, where she receives full-time shelter, care and support.
In honor of Mother's Day, give a gift that will help women like Nadi find a way out sexual slavery. You can honor the special mom in your life by helping another mother in need.
Thank you again,
John Sparks
