Vidya was only twelve years old when she was married to her husband. However, her husband abandoned her seven years later, after she gave birth to her second son.
With two small children and no home, Vidya struggled to make ends meet. She met a woman named Babita who worked in the sex trade. Vidya felt she had no choice: without income, her children would not survive. So, she joined Babita and was eventually trafficked to a suburb in Mumbai.
When we met Vidya, she was very quiet, depressed, and fearful. But because of the counseling made possible by your support, she soon began to attend community building activities held and spent more time with other women from the area. She opened up about her problems and took advice on how to live differently.
Vidya has now decided to leave the trade! Your generosity gives these women a second chance at life. She has freedom, because of you.

Dear Friend,
Because of your generous gifts, women and children are being rescued from the sex-trade in India. You are empwering the most vulnerable - thank you!
Saavni grew up very poor. One day, some friends came to visit her. These friends had stylish clothes and accessories, and Saavni wanted to know how she could also have these things. Without telling her parents, Saavni joined her friends and moved to Mumbai.
Shortly after moving to Mumbai, Saavni became ill with tuberculosis. She needed money for medicine, and since her friends were already working in the sex trade, she decided to join them.
When our team met Saavni, she was still in the trade, had terrible lung damage, was addicted to tobacco, and used abusive language. She started attending our medical center and soon opened up to counseling and other help.
Today, Saavni has been completely transformed! No longer in the sex trade, she has survived tuberculosis, no longer uses tobacco or abusive language, and loves to help others. She even is learning hand embroidery and how to read and write!
Saavni could not have been rescued if it were not for your help. You make it possible for women and children just like Saavni to recieve a second chance for a better life. Thank you for for your generosity and support!
Sincerely,
John Sparks

Thank you for rescuing a trafficked child in India. You are impacting vulnerable people like Sanchiti* and making a life-changing difference in their lives.
Sanchiti had been trafficked from West Bengal. When she reached the railway station she escaped from her captors, but she didn’t know what to do. She couldn’t speak the local language and had no money. A few children who were beggars saw her struggling and gave her something to eat, but within days she was picked up by the police.
Crammed in a detention cell with dozens of other minor girls, she was completely lost since she only spoke Bengali. Within a few days, one of our workers met her and discovered that her family had sold her to traffickers. She could not go home and had no local relations. After trying all possible solutions, the court released her to stay at our safe home and Sanchiti is now safe.
You made this possible! Thank you for your compassion and generosity to help girls like Sanchiti.
Rescue is a special one-time event, but caring for a trafficked child after she has left the red-light districts is a long term and challenging task. Because of your generosity the work is expanding to rescue more children from danger.
Today, your gift is helping a young lady like Sanchiti experience hope and healing. Because of your help, she is out of the red-light district and no longer living in the darkness of the brothels.
Thank you for making this possible!
*Sanchiti’s identity has been changed to protect her and to keep her safe.
Dear Friend,
Thank you for your gift to help trafficked women and children living in the red-light districts. Because of you, these women are finding a life of freedom and are no longer trapped in sexual slavery. A total of 14 women have exited the sex trade in the past few months thanks to your compassion and generosity.
You are helping a young woman like Anju. She was just 15 years old when she was trafficked from her small village and taken to a red-light district in Mumbai. She was tied up with rope and left alone in a room facing physical abuse of the worse kind. She didn't think her life would end up working in the sex trade.
When our counseling team met Anju she had two children and had been working in the red-light district for several years. It wasn't a good situation for her or her kids. Over time we encouraged her to send her children to our pre-primary school located in the red-light district. We also helped her realize that she needed to get out.
This year Anju made the decision to leave the red-light district! Thanks to you Anju is receiving the help she needs. You are providing a brighter future not just for her but also her family. Anju recently told us that she wants her daughters to have a safe future and live in a safe house where they can grow up and become all they can be! She hopes her second daughter to become a lawyer someday!
Your gift made this story have a happy ending. Thank you for your support!
Thank you,
John Sparks
Dear friend,
Thank you for making a difference in the lives of women and children living in India's red-light districts. You are providing a way for these women and children to find hope and healing in a dark and dangerous place. Because of your gift, 165 women and 109 children living in the red-light districts were helped through various services that were offered.
It is truly amazing to see the transformation that occurs when you care and love these women and children who are often abused and neglected.
Your gift is changing the life of a woman named *Priya. She was married before she was 15 years old and came to Mumbai with her son and husband. With the promise of a better life, she worked hard to support her family. But two months later, her husband betrayed her and sold her into the sex trade. Her husband was an alcoholic facing financial crisis, and tragically, Priya and her child were trapped in the red-light light district where she was forced to work.
When our counseling team first met Priya, she was reserved, withdrawn and angry. She wasn't interested in making friends. But over several months of trying to build a relationship, she eventually opened up about her life. She began to participate in all of our community building activities. Priya attended our medical camp and showed up to weekly gatherings. This past year Priya joined our Beautician Training Course and is interested in joining the tailoring program as well.
“Many days of my life have already gone by,” says Priya. “But now I want to do good work in the time that’s remaining.”
Priya is motivated to succeed thanks to your compassionate gift. She is willing to overcome her unfortunate circumstances to provide a better life for her and her children. Thank you for changing her life.
Sincerely,
John Sparks
