COLLEGE GARDEN SHAPING UP

We have steadily moved on with the project, still staying true to our goal, to Provide-Clean-Water-To-Over-1800-Nyamongeans.

At the moment, two phases of the project are complete, we still have 30% of work to be done on the third phase, the Water Tower to make 100% functional. Most of this has been realized by funds from GlobalGiving and direct funding.

It is now four years since the College was vetted in to the GlobalGiving Platform, and from the efforts made, three direct outcomes have become apparent: 1. College Garden Establishment, the college has improved on its garden, and hopes to utilize the limited space to feed its residents.

 2. Improved Food Security, as you will see in the photos, we no longer purchase vegetables for on campus consumption, we have increased access to vegetables. Very soon the college will be consuming fruits from its garden. 3. Environmental sustainability, the college has continuously planted trees in designated area to give the college aesthetic beauty and to make it conducive for learning.

The project objective to provide access to clean safe drinking water, has been realized on campus, and to about 40% of the local community. A section that is still wanting is to complete plumbing work, and be able to reach more people in the community.

As we work towards helping our students discover their purpose and be able to make a difference in the society, we also wish to empower more members of this community with similar ideals.

We are committed to forging ahead for stronger relationship with the GlobalGiving Community, to achieve the goal for which this project was started, to go beyond that. We hope to make the most out of this project to be able to serve the college and its community now and in the years to come.
