During the current reporting period, Good Thinkers Organization–Pakistan (GTO-Pakistan) was unable to mobilize financial resources for this project. Nevertheless, GTO continued its commitment to transgender rights by organizing an internal consultative session with members of its Board of Directors (BoD) to assess the situation of the transgender community and define the organization’s strategic direction.
The consultation focused on the persistent violations of transgender rights in Pakistan, despite the existence of protective legal frameworks. Board members expressed grave concern that strong social pressure, stigma, and discrimination continue to undermine the implementation of these laws, leaving the transgender community vulnerable to exclusion and abuse.
As an outcome of the session, GTO members agreed to prioritize advocacy for effective implementation of existing transgender rights laws. The organization also resolved to develop a structured advocacy plan, engaging all staff members to raise awareness, strengthen accountability, and support the protection of transgender rights at community and institutional levels.
While financial constraints limited field-level activities during this period, this consultation laid an important strategic foundation for future advocacy and rights-based interventions once resources become available.
