It’s our great pleasure to share with you all friends the Quarterly progress report of SDO-Nepal’s child-home-orphanage for the duration of 25 July to-date as follows:

1)                   Our story:

“Children were excitingly waiting for the surprising moment that the TOP-3 achievers of SDO-Orphanage on the Final exam result were going to reward the prizes from the distinguished guest Mr. Min Raj on the 7^th-Annual-Meeting(AGM). 1^st prize winner SRIJANA( 97.25 %) class-4, 2^nd  prize  winner DOLMA(93.17 %) class-5 and 3^rd prize winner PEMBA( 90 %) class-4. Congratulations girls for your Outstanding results.”

2)Achievements:

a)Educational progress of children: 

Children have received the Excellent Result in 1^st-TERM-EXAM as shown below:

• DOLMA, class-5 GPA: 3.89
• SUSMITA, class-5  GPA: 3.70
• SABITA, class-1  GPA: 3.60
• SRIJANA, class-4  GPA: 3.57
• PEMBA, class-4  GPA: 3.37
• KARISHMA, class-4  GPA: 3.29
• PRATIKSHYA, class-3  GPA: 3.09

Rest girls also received good results in this exam.

 Others:

• Dashain and Dipawali festivals falls in this month. Durga, Srijana and Susmita are staying at SDO-member’s home. Rest girls have gone with their relatives to celebrate the festivals. So SDO provided new clothes to all children and care giver sister just before of these festivals.
• 7^th Annual Meeting of SDO Nepal is conducted. Main decisions made are:

            *Endorsed the progress report of FY 2075/76

            *Endorsed the income expenditure and audit report of FY 2075/76

            *New executive committee formed for 2 years.

            *The top 3 achievers on annual exam result will be awarded with prizes.

• The rainy crops were almost harvested. So, we have sown autumn vegetables in child home’s kitchen garden.
• Saraswati has suffered from fever. But, after the medication at local clinic , she is fine now.

4) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid for food /water purchased/ hygiene -$ 250. Stationery- $ 23. Cloth for children purchased- $ 190. Electricity charges paid-$ 20. Care-Giver and Tution Teacher’s salary paid- $ 370. House rent paid- $ 690. Government tax and organization renew charges paid- $120. Plastic chairs purchased- $ 48. Website renewal charge- $ 60, Auditor’s fee paid- $ 50.

It’s our great pleasure to share with you all  friends the Quarterly progress report of SDO-Nepal’s child-home-orphanage for the duration of  26 April to-date as follows:

1)                    Our story:

 “DOLMA who is studying at class-5 is AWARDED with MEDAL, school bag, essay book and stationery from her school on the auspicious occasion of Teacher's-Day as she received GPA-3.26 an EXCELLENT-RESULT out of 3.50 on the final exam and secured 2nd-POSITION on her class. DOLMA is well disciplined and very industrious student and hence, receiving outstanding results since 4 years.”

  2)Achievements:

 a)Educational progress of children: 

 Children has just completed their 1^st-TERM-EXAM and waiting for result. However, the school has continued their classes normally.

• Pemba and Karishma of class-4 received full marks i.e. 10/10, 20/20 on the class tests of English subjects.
• Srijana, class-4 received 9/10 on class test of Nepali subject.
• Saraswati, class-8 received 20/25 on class test of English subject.

 3)      Others:

• An orphaned 9 years old girl PRATIKSHA from remotest region Mugu and also another orphaned girl ROSHANI, 9 years girl from Dhading are protected at SDO-orphanage and admitted and studying at Tilingatar Secondary school on class-3. They both are so lovely, friendly girls and are new-comers at SDO.
• Dr. Thakur conducted the regular health check up to all girls at child home. Doctor advised all the children are in-good health and good growth as per their age. Priya, 15 years old  is advised to consult eye specialist as she has distance seeing problem. Thank you Dr. Thakur for your love and great help to SDO.
• A group of young energetic   girls Renu,  Sanuka, Nirmala, Pabitra and  Goma volunteered at SDO for 45 days in order to accomplish their Bachelor in Social Work( BSW) 1^st- Year. Thank you Active College , Basundhara for sending students to volunteer at SDO.
• Now a days ,  as and when they have leisure time , children has the daily routine on planting, weeding, irrigating, caring the flower and vegetables garden at child home. They seemed boundless happy when they are harvesting the vegetables they grown themselves on their own garden.
• Children celebrated Mother’s-Day and 15^th-Ashar festivals with great joys at child home.

4) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid- $ 180 for school fees. Food /water purchased/ hygiene -$ 395. School books- $ 30. School dress purchased- $60. Stationery- $55. Telephone installation/ cable TV/ Electricity charges paid-$ 118. Kitchen utensils-$ 70. Maintenance/ misc- $ 122.  Care-Giver and Tution Teacher’s salary paid- $ 330.

It’s our great pleasure to share with you all  friends the Quarterly progress report of SDO-Nepal’s child-home-orphanage for the duration of  28^th Jan to-date as follows:

1)                    Our story:

“ Don’t touch our clothes, your hands are contaminated and dirty”-  a man angrily said to our children  who was living in the same building where we were living. Incident is that, our girl were removing the neighbor’s dried clothes safely from the rope and  instead they wanted to hang their wet clothes on that rope. This incident made us sentiment and crying that what our Nepalese society is behaving to these innocent orphans and abandoned children. Our children shared with us this incident and asked sir/maam , is our gate separate and we do not need to share our building with  others at our new home ??.  In reality, our children are quite healthy, talented , neat and clean than their children. So, we decided and also  shifted our child-home to a separate, secured and wide area where our children are safe, pretty happy and feeling this is their own home.

2)Achievements:

a)Educational progress of children: 

We are so glad to share the  Educational progress Report of  the children who received the outstanding and excellent performances on the FINAL -EXAM as follows:

i)SRIJANA, class-4 achieved OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.89 out of 4
ii) PEMBA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.60 out of 4

iii) KARISHMA,class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.37 out of 4

iv) DOLMA, class-5 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.26 out of 3.5
v) SUSMITA, class-5 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.09 out of 3.5
vi) SABITA, class-1 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.16 out of 3.33

* Rest girls also achieved Satisfactory-Performance in the final exam and upgraded accordingly.

 b) Extra-Curricular-Activities:

• Susmita and Dolma of class-5 were awarded with pencil packs, color packs and geometry sets from the school.

3)      Others:

• Priya(Rani) celebrated her 15^th Birthday at child home by  cutting cake with children. They all enjoyed a lot.
• We shifted our child home from Tokha-6 to Tokha-8 which is close to our old home. The new home have 6 rooms with a store rooms and 2 rest rooms. There is enough ground space where children can play  and also in the rest area we are developing a flower garden and a beautiful kitchen garden.
• We conducted a Health-Camp at Basundhara in collaboration with Ujyalo Health Clinic and provided the medical consultation and health check up by specialist doctors of Gynecology/ Obstetrics and General Physician. A big thank you to Dr. Triloki and Dr. Sarita for your worthy time. Similarly, our thanks to SDO and Ujyalo Team and committed volunteers to make it success.

 4) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid- $ 840 for house rent. Food /water  purchased-$150, School fees paid- $ 210, Carpet purchased-$ 140,Care-Giver salary paid- $ 180, office shifting and maintenances-$ 140, miscellaneous expenses-$ 25.

1)                    Our story:

Let us imagine, how an ORPHANED GIRL would have feel or behaved when she  lost her father and mother both in the early child hood of 7 years of age ? Indeed, the matter is quite serious when she is from very poor and tribal caste. No one is ready to hold her hand ! Sorry, for bringing YOU on deep-thought. 
This is NOT a STORY of imagination. It was really happened on the life of SRIJANA. She came to this SDO-Orphanage when she was of 7 years old. Now, SRIJANA is 11 years old and is studying at class-3. She is very talented girl and is achieving OUTSTANDING RESULTS i.e. GPA: 3.89 continuously since 4 years. She is also awarded with APPRECIATION CERTIFICATES and MEDALS from her school. She is a lovely and very friendly child.

2)Achievements:

a)Educational progress of children: 

We are so glad to share the  Educational progress Report of  the children who received the outstanding and excellent performances on 2^nd -TERM-EXAM as follows:

i)SRIJANA, class-3 achieved OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.89
ii) PEMBA, class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.60

iii) KARISHMA,class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.37

iv) DOLMA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.06
v) SUSMITA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.06
vi) SABITA, class-KG achieved VERRY GOOD PERFORMANCE with GPA-2.85

* Rest girls also achieved Satisfactory-Performance in this exam.

 b) Extra-Curricular-Activities:

• PEMBA, class-3 is awarded with MEDAL on “Dance-Competition”.
• DOLMA, class-4 is awarded with MEDAL on “Spelling-Contest”.
• SUSMITA , cass-4 is awarded with 2 pencils for achieving 24/25 marks on English Class-Test.
• DOLMA,class-4 achieved 1^st-position on English Unit Test i.e. 24/25.
• KARISHMA, class-3 achieved 10/10 on English and 9.5/10 on Math unit-test.

. 2) Others:

• RANI, SARASWATI , SABITA and DURGA participated on Educational-Tour around Katmandu valley. Similarly, DOLMA, SUSMITA, PEMBA and KARISHMA is also participated on Educational Tour to Tribhuwan Park, Kathmandu.
• Children celebrated Christmas, New Year, Maghe Sakranti eve and festivals with great joys.
• Mr. PREM joint-Secretary of SDO has participated on National Workshop “ Alternative Care Services in Nepal” which was jointly organized by UNICEF, Save the Children, Plan International and SOS-Children home.

 3) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid- $ 800 for house rent/ water, food items purchased-$110, Telephone expenses-$80, Carpet purchased-&73,Care-Giver salary paid- $ 180, thick blanket (4 nos) purchased-$72, plastic chairs (10 nos) purchased-$54 and school fee paid $20.

We are so glad to share the  Educational progress Report of  the children who received the outstanding and excellent performances on 1^st-TERM-EXAM as follows:

i) SRIJANA, class-3 achieved OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.77
ii) PEMBA, class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.60
iii) DOLMA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.30
iv) SUSMITA, class-4 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.16
v) SABITA, class-KG achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.15
vi) KARISHMA,class-3 achieved EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE with GPA-3.03
vii) NIRA, class-KG achieved VERY-GOOD PERFORMANCE with GPA-2.49
* Rest girls also achieved Satisfactory-Performance in this exam.
* From this academic session we had shifted the children at Tilingatar Secondary School, Dhapasi. This is the first result of our children at this school. Despite of this , all children were easily adjusted and performed the excellent results. We heartily Thanks to Tilingatar school management team for providing the children such a wonderful educational and ECA environment.

 b) Extra-Curricular-Activities:

• PRIYA,class-9 is awarded with Geometry-Sets for selecting on TOP-10 on Debate –Competition at school on “ Role of students on abolishing the caste discrimination at society”

. 2) Others:

• We have provided new-dresses to all children and care-giver sister just before the Dashain and Dipawali festivals. There is a 1 month long holiday for this festival. Hence, we tried to send the children to their family/relatives/ nearest ones at their village to celebrate these festivals as possible. However, no one, came to bring DURGA, SUSMITA and SRIJANA; so, these girls are celebrating these festivals with SDO  family members.
• Children have also celebrated Rakshya-Bandhan feast and  festival wearing the sacred thread at wrist and eating specially the Kwati vegetables ( sprouted 9 different lentils).
• All the children and care-giver sister visited FUN-PARK during the holiday. Children enjoyed playing   on various games, observed beautiful scenario and enjoyed on delicious snacks/tiffin at hotel. They all looked so happy and refreshed.

 3) Financial status:

During this 3 months of period we paid- $ 490 for house rent/ water. New dresses purchased for children and care-giver sister for festivals: $ 300, Food items purchased- $ 186,  Care-Giver salary paid- $ 180, photo copy/print/stationery- $ 90, Tax office  paid-$ 62, Audit fee paid- $ 50, Website renewal charge paid- $ 50, Organization renewal charge paid - $ 30.

Dear friends, from the love and support from all of you, our hopes are sprouting and getting encouragement to protect more needy children and run the orphanage sustainably. But, due to the  highly increasing market price day by day and rapidly increasing education costs,   it is being hard to provide the fundamental needs to our orphans and abandoned children. Your every donation is precious and will bring the significant changes on the life of these orphans and abandoned children. we look forward for your continuous support, encouragement and hoping that you will spread your kind  words to support on our Cause.
