Yemen is currently grappling with a severe cholera outbreak, exacerbated by heavy rains and flooding. This crisis has led to widespread water contamination and a surge in infections. The International Organization for Migration (IOM) warns that the number of cases could reach a staggering 255,000 by September 2024 without urgent action.

Thanks to your generous support, we have been able to take significant steps to combat this epidemic in the rural areas of Sana'a Governorate:

• Community Awareness: We've conducted extensive outreach campaigns to educate the public about cholera symptoms, transmission, and prevention measures.
• Targeted Support for Women and Girls: Recognizing their unique vulnerabilities, we've distributed hygiene kits to empower women and girls to protect themselves.
• Essential Aid Distribution: We've provided 200 hygiene kits and clean water to the most vulnerable communities in Bani AlHareth District.

On behalf of The Support Yemeni Society Organization’s Team, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering support towards our humanitarian project, "Save Yemeni Souls from COVID-19 in Yemen. 

Dear Generous Donors,

Yemen is currently facing another outbreak of Acute Watery Diarrhea (AWD) and suspected cholera, with hundreds of cases being reported daily. Cholera predominantly affects vulnerable populations living in areas with inadequate access to clean drinking water and sanitation facilities and ineffective waste disposal systems. Since 14 March, more than 8,700 cases have been recorded, particularly in Sana'a Governorate. Therefore, the Support Yemeni Society Organization’s Team, with your invaluable support, has conducted several activities to face such an epidemic. They have developed an inter-agency response plan that emphasizes both treatment and containment measures. They conducted awareness-raising sessions in several schools. They also distributed hygiene kits and clean water to the most vulnerable affected areas in Bani AlHareth District, Sana'a Governorate.
