Project

To introduce measures in present educational system at primary and middle educational curriculum subjects which can give access to global education, skills development, job preparation and more all in one place along with formal education.

Purpose of the Project

To train students alongwith formal education for employment and learn skill devevelopment techniques to generate some money for higher education and better living.

Current Situation

Education is imparted in B. D. P. School, Village Barauli, Block Baldeo, Distt. Mathura, U.P., India from Nursery to Class VIII standard to 300 boys and girls as per the curriculum prescribed by UP Board of education to prepare them to take up higher education beyond Class VIII. Normal personality development measures are taken to boost personality trades.

What we did to improve the situation

(i) Alongwith formal education curriculum as prescribed by UP Board of Education. We introduced subjects like computer education, vocational courses. Under these subjects, we teach them skills like tailoring, stiching, handycrafts, home science, hospitality, health awareness knowledge useful for themselves as well for their families.

(ii) Trained teachers employed to impart this informal education having requisite qualification for each skill separately.

(iii) No extra financial burden was put on students for imparing this education.

(iv) For imparting this education, the educational time table was rescheduled and eductional curriculum reframed by adding few hours in the school teaching time. For this, both students and teachers agreed.

Result

1. Students got education to employment.

2. Students learned skills to generate money side by side for higher education.

3. Self confidence increased in students.

4. Health and general awareness increased which becomes useful for better living for self as well as for their families.

The Management and Members of Psycho Educational Society, BDP School students, staff and teachers are grateful of donors who have donated the funds. With the aid of these funds all these events could happen and the successful event would not have been possible without it.

Utilization of Funds

The funds received from donors are utilized to pay the extra salaries of the teachers and to meet the running expenses of the school during this period to execute the programme conducted for the project.

The beneficiaries kept their skills relevant and produce better work. Skills were utilized for employment. Few girls who learned the skills in tailoring, home science start teaching in the B.D.P School and earned money for the job they did in school. Some beneficaries took local employment in cooking and earned money for their families and start living a better life.

Educational Tour for Students of B.D.P. School

Project

Educational Tour for Students of BDP School is arranged during the academic session. The students are taken to different places of importance which give them an education about the Indian History, Scientific Developments and Creativity, Progress.

Purpose of the Project

To make them aware about the Indian History, Scientific Developments and Creativity, Progress. Normally during the eduational curriculam the text books only give them the theoritical education. A better concept & understanding is created by visiting the different places, museums and the places where the development activities are happening.

Current Situation

Currently the Students are not in position to visit different places because pausity of funds. The parents of most of the students can not send the students at their own expenses at they are living under BPL condition. The students remain deprived and their imagination and grasping power is under limitation.

What we did to improve the situation

(i) The different educational tour during the year arranged. The principal of the BDP School in the begining of the academic session makes a planning and calender is prepared for the tours. And for every tour a teacher is designated to conduct.

(ii) The transport and other arrangements are made to conduct the tours. For every tours one staff member is the incharge from begining to the end and is held responsible to organise and conduct the tour. He make all arrangement for visit, takes the required sanction to visit the places.

(iii) The stedent from all level of various class are nominated for the tour as per the capacity of the programe.

(iv) The all expenses are born by the school management and the donors from different donor agency for such projects.

Results

1. The students got educated and have a better understanding of the Scientific Developments, Historical Events and Cultural Activities of the past and present.

2. The learned about the how the development took place from the origin and how we reached to the present situation, what is the importance of historical events, why did it happend and what are result of such events.

3.They also learn as how they can implement the learnings and what they can do in the present situation.

4. They learned to perform the creative activities which enhance their imagination and understanding.

The group of students boys and girls who participated in the educational tour appreciated and learned various aspects in a practical fashion apart from learning theoritically from the text books. Their understanding and the concept improved. Their parents appreciated the method which school adopted to improve the educational system. Some of the parents accompanied the students during the tour this encourage the management and students. By this more parents agreed to send their wards to such tour and they agreed to contribute to meet the expenses.

Introduction of Indian Culture Awareness Programme for BDP school students

Project

Normally in all Indian Educational Institutions, the holiday is declared and school remains closed to celebrate all cultural related festivals. Students and teachers do not come to school on this day and spends their time at home mostly playing or doing some home related activity. They are not aware as what is the reason, why this holiday in school, what is the value related to this occasion for which the holiday is declared?

Purpose of the Project

Educate the students and make them aware about the festival and stories related with it for which the holiday is declared to mark the respect to the occasion. Learning from happening on this day to be inculcated in the development of student’s overall personality for e.g. Dusshera is celebrated to mark winning over the bad to the good.

Current Situation

A complete holiday is declared in the school to mark and celebrate the occasion/festival. Teachers and students do not come to school. Teachers also do not educate students what happened on this day in the past and why do we celebrate this occasion. Who are the characters involved – Why this was done – Who did it – What good or bad happened on this day.

What we did to improve the situation

(i) Complete holiday in the school is not declared. Students and teachers have to attend school on the function day. An educational programme is introduced which is related to the occasion for which the holiday is to be observed. Teachers teach all students by way of conducting special lessons, which tells about the happenings and observations and the lessons to be learned from past events.

(ii) Students and teachers participate together to celebrate the occasion and mock drills are performed by performing related activities.

(iii) School functions for half a day and then after the educational curriculum is complete, the students and teachers disperse for rest of the day.

Result

1. Students got educated and are aware about the occasion/festival for which the holiday is declared.

2. Learned about good and bad deeds and how it affects their life.

3. Students have knowledge and awareness about the occasion.

4. They also know as how they can implement the learning’s and the value of the occasions for the development of their personality.

5. They performed the creative activities which enhanced their development instead of spending the time in play or doing some not so important activities at home.

In fact the parents also joined their wards during the performance of these activities in the school, encouraged and appreciated the students.
