The school year in Kenya has recently ended and things are busier than ever! Kiwimbi runs Holiday Camps during school breaks, which brings hundreds of children to the Library every single day for weeks. It's a vibrant, active and energetic place!
Kiwimbi's staff runs sports and games activities; and educational programs in English and math fundamentals, computer literacy, reading comprehension and more. Secondary students also return to the Library. They volunteer their time to tutor younger children and work on their own academic skills to begin preparaing for the next school year. A select group of these older children are members of our Leadership Group where staff work with them on their skills in things like public speaking, debate and communication and academics. The youngest children paricitpate in our preschool prgram called the Kiwimbi Kidogo, learning the alphabet, numbers, colors shapes, songs and games.
And ALL of these children are served a nutritous lunch each day! Kiwimbi promises to feed every child who is present during lunch service.
Your gift to our project ensures we can keep this promise to the children during Camp time and throughout the school year too. Thank you for feeding the children in our programs.
