Vidya Poshak's Nurture Merit Update

Financial Support Program
Over all highlights of the Scholarship Activities:
- We received 4200 applications from Meritorious but economically challenged students during the year. After Home visits, we could assist 338 such students under the Nurture Merit scheme.
- Through Matching Grants Program, we partnered with 13 Degree colleges and supported 236 students for pursuing their degree course.
- A total of 1516 students were supported to continue their post 10th class education.
- During the year, 60% of the total student beneficiaries were girls.
Highlights of the Library Activities:
- In all, 9486 students utilized the library facilities through our 6 library centers. Branch wise details are as below
- Students were supported with the library facilities like Computer, Internet, Reprography, display of newspaper clippings carrying important articles, awareness programmes on Competitive Examinations, Career Counseling & Guidance, supply of previous years’ question papers, etc.
- Conducted workshop on “What after Graduation” for students pursuing non-professional courses.
- Organized session on “Study Techniques for Desired Results” for Class XI completed Students
- ICICI-TVS training campus recruitment drive was organized at the 5 branch Libraries of Vidya Poshak. A total of 17 campus recruitment drives were organized in which 554 students participated.
- Online application facility for various exams was offered free for Vidya Poshak scholars and for registered member students.
Residential Bridge camp
Residential bridge camp is an important component of the training package offered to the student community by Vidya Poshak. It, in fact, is a bridge between the student and his dreams
During the year, 12 residential bridge camps and four college training programs were organized at various places covering a total of 639 students. Out of 639 students 100 were Kannada Sangha Hong Kong supported students.

Dear Well Wisher
Greetings from Vidya Poshak. Please find the key highlights of our Nurture Merit program for 2016
- During the year INR 73.61 Lacs distributed as Financial assistance for 1386 students
- 60% of the student beneficiaries were girls this year
- 474 new students were inducted based on their Class 10 marks and the financial condition after physical verification.
- Financial assistance was renewed for 75% of the students who were assisted last year
- This year 3 New colleges joined hands with VidyaPoshak under the Matching Grant Scheme Program. Now overall 15 colleges are partnering with Vidya Poshak which benefits 200 students
Vidya Poshak is now completed 15 Years in operation. 4300 students have completed their graduation and started working. Now their families are out of Poverty forever.

Dear Well Wishers
Greetings from Vidya Poshak, please find the highlights for the last two months
- In the year 2016-17 we are planning to support 2000+ students out of which 1600 are renewals and the remaining 400 are fresh applicants.
- 3200 students applicants had registered their name through SMS for attending Nurture Merit Test to be eligible for the financial assistance
- Out of 3200 students applicants 2450 applicants appeared for the test at 15 different centres.
- After visiting applicants dwelling for income assessment 400 new students were Identified for this year’s financial assistance
- One of the vidya Poshak’s beneficiaries, Miss Kavya, has successes fully cleared the CA final examination and has become qualified chartered accountant
- More than 4000 students utilized the Library services in the last quarter
We have now completed 15 years service and following is the highlights
- 15000+ Meritorious economically challenged students progressed to next level of literacy through our financial assistance program
- In all 4000+ graduates have settled through gain full employment in their life and brought their families out the clutches of economic backwardness.
- 100,000 students and 4,866 teachers and 4,734 employees were trained through different training programs.
- More than 1,80,000 students benefitted from our library services. .
- Overall 230 Million Indian rupees invested in last 15 years for Empowerment of Youth.
