Kami

Hello Las Lomas supporters!
We are sending much love from Kami. She is a 12-year-old basset mix. We found what we thought was a tumor and took her to the vet for an exam. We were very relieved to hear it was just an abscess! We aren't sure how it happened but the vet was surprised how well she felt because her temp was 104.
They had to sedate her, open it up, and let it drain. They sent her home on antibiotics and steroids. She's doing great and sends her love and thanks to all of you for your help!
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and thanking you so much for your support!
Sincerely,
Kim and all the dogs of Las Lomas

Heartgard and Dog Food
By Kim Miller | President

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!
Summer is gone and we are gearing up for the cooler months again. Soon, we will need to start buying hay and tarps in preparation for the lower temperatures.
In the meantime, with your help, we have been able to buy some Heartgard, our monthly heartworm prevention of choice. We have also been able to buy some dog food. Our trips to the warehouse for donated dog food have been very scarce and far between this past year as the number of rescues have grown and the donations have decreased.
All of the dogs send their love and appreciation for the help you have given us over the years and your continued support. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much!
Sincerely,
Kim and all the dogs

Keeping the dogs well fed!

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!
Everything has been fairly quiet here. Fortunately we haven’t had any emergencies recently. I was able to get a loan to pay off the vet bills. We are no longer in need of hay since Winter is gone. We have been busy doing repairs to the shelter and enlarging the kennels to give the dogs even more room. Our mower has been in the shop, again, and we finally got it back so we have also been busy getting all the grass cut and making sure they safe have a safe yard to run around in.
We are on our last month of heartworm prevention so I will need to buy some more of that. In the meantime, we have been using all of the donations to buy dog food. We are spending close to $500 a month to feed everyone here. All of our remaining dogs are seniors and many of them are spoiled and won’t eat dry food unless we mix some can food with it so we have been adding it as an extra treat for them. They love it.
Thank you again for your support. The dogs send their love and best wishes!
Sincerely,
Kim and all the dogs at Las Lomas
