Krystal is Overcoming Auto Immune Disease
By Kim Miller | President

Hello Las Lomas supporters!
Krystal is a beautiful and sweet Shepherd mix. She developed an auto immune disease. This caused her to lose a lot of her hair. She also lost her appetite, and as a result, weight loss followed.
With your help, we were able to get her evaluated by our vet. Her bloodwork was good. She did have some bacteria which was causing infection with her skin. We were able to give her baths in a special shampoo, once a week for 2 months. She was also put on several medications.
I'm happy to report that she has gotten 99% of her hair back. She has a great appetite again and is putting her weight back on.
We are very thankful to you and the help you have given us for these animals here at Las Lomas K9 Rescue. Thank you!
Sincerely
Kim

Bailey & Candy

Hello supporters!
We are reaching out today because Bailey and Candy both had cancerous tumors that needed to be removed. Not only did they have the tumors that are visible, they both had large tumors that couldn't be seen. Fortunately, the vet was able to remove it all, on both dogs. Bailey had complications (swelling and draining) which required two emergency trips. The second time, they decided to keep her a few days. She is still there recovering but is doing very well. We decided to leave Candy there for a few days just in case she had any problems over the weekend but so far she has not. They are both expected to be released next week.
We have raised enough money for one of the surgeries through friends and family but still need help with the second one. Our donations have dramatically decreased and with the costs of dog food and heartworm prevention, we have literally exhausted our funds.
Please help as much as you can. We are expecting our balance next week to be well over $1,000.
We have so much work left to do and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
Sincerely,
Kim and all the dogs at Las Lomas K9 Rescue

Dog Food
By Kim Miller | President
![]()
Hello Everyone!
This past quarter, we spent all of our donations on dog food. We are thankful for all of you who continue to help us and appreciate those who have helped us in the past. We understand times are hard; a few of our donors are no longer able to help due to loss of jobs. While we fully understand, it has honestly taken a toll on us. Our dog food bill is $200 a week and that doesn’t count the dogs in foster. We are barely able to keep up with that lately and regret we haven’t been able to help very many new dogs. The cost of vet care is rising as well and we realize we can only bring in what we can afford to feed and properly vet.
We are hopeful donations will pick back up. Please help us spread the word. Together, we can all make a difference and continue our mission in saving abandoned animals and providing quality care to the ones currently in our program.
Our website hasn’t been updated; we have been experiencing Internet issues and currently looking for a new provider. We hope to have it updated soon and apologize for the inconvenience.
Attached are a few pictures of our most recent adoptions over this past weekend. We are making not only dogs happy, but the families who adopt them too!
Thank you so much for your support, it is truly appreciated. The dogs send their love!
Sincerely,
Kim Miller
