By Kim Miller | President

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!
Spring is around the corner! With your help, we were able to buy some hay to get us through the rest of the Winter, stuffing all the dog houses and keeping everyone warm and comfortable. It won't be long until the weather is warm and we are looking forward to it!
We were also able to buy some heartworm medicine and a couple bags of dog food.
We really appreciate your support. With all of our senior dogs, our vet bills have been high. You have all been a blessing to us and the dogs thank you and send their love! This picture attached is Little Angel. She is now 15 years young!
Sincerely,
Kim

Winter is Around the Corner

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!
It's that time of the year again. Winter is just around the corner and we are preparing the shelter for the comfort of the dogs during the cooler season. We have wrapped the entire shelter with 6x20 tarps. We have cover the entire inside with lots of hay. We have stuffed the dog houses full of hay. The dogs absolutely love the hay. It provdes warmth and they also like to play in it, scattering it all around. The tarps protect them from the wind and keeps the rain out. The hay insulates the dog houses and makes a world of difference in the temperatures. Fortunately, we very seldom have freezing temperatures, and when we do, they don't last long, but it does get a bit chilly. They cooler air makes them frisky and playful.
The dogs all send their love and many thanks for all you do to help them. We replace the hay several times a week so still need to stock up on a bunch of it.
Thank you for all your help. We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.
Sincerely, from the botton of our hearts,
Kim and all the dogs of Las Lomas

Jake

Hello Las Lomas Supporters!
It's been awhile since we've been able to submit a report due to technical difficulties but we are back!
Jake, a yellow lab mix, developed a rare form of cancer. It was caused by a hair follicle of all things! In the beginning, it looked like a hot spot but it wasn't long before it reared it's ugly head. With your help, we were able to get him to the vet for an examination which ultimately led to surgery. He had the tumor removed and has recovered from his surgery. The report showed all of the cancer was removed and we are hopeful it won't return. However, we are closely monitoring him for any signs, being this is so rare. He is doing great and sends his love to you all!
Thank you for your support, every bit helps and makes a difference in the lives of these animals!
Sincerely,
Kim Miller
