Science and Reading for Kuppam Children

Brief:

During the quarter, the Science and Reading for Kuppam Children initiative continued to provide children with opportunities to develop reading, creativity, and experiential learning skills through library sessions, digital learning, outreach activities, and community engagement. The initiative provided students with access to library resources and interactive learning experiences, including storytelling, puppet shows, book-making, origami, paper-based activities, and digital learning. The initiative also engaged teachers, staff, visitors, and community members through regular sessions and outreach activities.

Library Learning Sessions:

Regular library and Digital Library sessions formed the foundation of the initiative during the quarter, providing students with opportunities to engage with books, storytelling, creative activities, and technology-enabled learning.

April

In April, students participated in library activities including storytelling, story narration, puppet shows, origami, kirigami, and miniature book-making. These activities provided opportunities for students to explore stories and express their ideas through creative and interactive methods. The use of Alexa devices during sessions was also introduced to encourage students' questioning attitude. Digital learning activities through Apni Pathashala further complemented the regular library sessions.

May

During May, students continued participating in library and Digital Library sessions along with creative and activity-based learning. Through Apni Pathashala, students created their own stories using picture story cards, providing opportunities to develop creativity and independent expression. Library activities also included paper-based creative activities and storytelling. Regular use of digital learning resources supported continued student engagement with technology-enabled learning.

June

In June, library sessions continued with a focus on reading, storytelling, creative expression, and hands-on activities. Students participated in story creation, illustration, book binding, and book-making activities. These activities provided students with practical experience in developing and presenting their own stories and books. Outreach sessions and teacher engagement activities also continued during the month.

Across the quarter, the combination of library resources, digital learning, storytelling, and creative activities provided students with varied opportunities to engage with reading and experiential learning.

Special Programs and Major Events:

Several special activities were conducted during the quarter to complement regular library and Digital Library sessions.

Storytelling with puppets was conducted as a teacher engagement activity, involving government teachers. Students also participated in puppet shows, story narration, miniature book-making, origami, kirigami, and other creative activities.

The Anjani Program, focused on parent and student engagement, was conducted during April, May, and June at Sajjalapalli and Gudupalli Colony. These activities provided opportunities for engagement with parents and students through the community-based learning centres.

During the quarter, the program also supported Summer Camp preparation. Primary science and mathematics teachers were trained on preparing low-cost models for children at the Anji Reddy Lab, providing exposure to hands-on and resource-based learning approaches.

Community Visit Outreach:

Community outreach remained an important component of the initiative during the quarter, extending learning activities beyond the library and school environment.

Outreach sessions were conducted at community centres, including O.V. Gudupalli Colony and O.V. Sajjalapalli in Kuppam Mandal. Children participated in storytelling, paper craft, and other creative learning activities during these sessions.

The Anjani Program provided an additional platform for parent and student engagement during April, May, and June. These activities helped strengthen interaction between children, parents, and facilitators within the community.

The program also received visits and feedback from teachers, education officials, and other stakeholders. A visit by the Gudupalle MEO included observation of library activities and the Summer Camp outreach session in the village, providing an opportunity to review the community-based learning activities.

Library Activities:

The library continued to function as a learning space where children could explore books and participate in creative and experiential activities.

During the quarter, students engaged in story reading and narration, illustration, story creation, book-making, book binding, miniature book-making, origami, kirigami, puppet shows, and paper craft. These activities provided opportunities for students to engage with books while also creating and presenting their own stories and learning materials.

Digital learning resources were also utilized during the quarter, including Apni Pathashala, Digital Library resources, Alexa devices, and Acti-Learn books. Students used picture story cards through Apni Pathashala to create their own stories, while Acti-Learn books were utilized in schools.

The library also provided opportunities for students to develop practical creative skills. Sixth-grade students, for example, gained experience in storybook creation, story narration, illustration, and book binding as part of their library learning activities.

Overall Impact:

During the quarter, the Science and Reading for Kuppam Children initiative provided a combination of reading, digital learning, creative activities, and community-based outreach opportunities for children in Kuppam.

The quarterly statistics also recorded participation from teachers and staff, along with library visitors. These engagements provided children with continued access to library resources and opportunities to participate in interactive learning activities.

The integration of storytelling, book-making, creative paper activities, digital learning, and community outreach enabled students to engage with learning through multiple approaches. Parent engagement through the Anjani Program, teacher engagement through storytelling and training activities, and outreach sessions further extended the program beyond the library setting.

Overall, the quarter strengthened opportunities for children in Kuppam to develop reading, creativity, storytelling, and experiential learning skills through a combination of library-based, digital, and community-based educational activities.

Kuppam Campus Library Report Jan-Mar 2026

BRIEF:

The Vidya Jyothi Library at Kuppam Campus continued its active engagement from January to March 2026, focusing on strengthening reading habits, improving access to learning resources, and enhancing community participation. The library supported both academic and creative learning through book-based and digital activities.

During this quarter, the library expanded its collection with 220 books received through the Donate-A-Book campaign supported by Pratham Publications. A total of 2,225 unique students were reached, generating an overall exposure of 5,719 across library and digital learning sessions.

The library witnessed consistent participation from students, teachers, staff, and community members. Key initiatives included storytelling sessions, book-making activities, outreach programs, and integration of digital learning tools such as Apni Pathasala and Alexa devices. Community engagement remained strong through regular Anjani programs conducted across multiple locations.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:

During this quarter, the library conducted a range of structured and activity-based sessions aimed at improving reading, creativity, and learning engagement among students.

Library activities included storytelling sessions, book reading, book review discussions, and hands-on book-making exercises. Students actively participated in creating their own stories using picture story cards, developing skills in narration, illustration, and book binding. These activities were particularly effective in encouraging creativity and improving language skills.

Outreach sessions were regularly conducted, extending library activities beyond the campus into nearby communities. Sessions such as paper craft and activity-based learning ensured that students remained engaged in interactive and joyful learning experiences.

Digital learning integration was strengthened through Apni Pathasala sessions, where structured digital content was delivered to students. Alexa devices were also used during sessions to promote questioning habits and curiosity-driven learning among students.

Teacher engagement was another key focus area. Government teachers participated in a special training session on storytelling with puppets. Additionally, teacher training programs were conducted to enhance teaching methodologies and classroom engagement.

Despite strong activity implementation, book cataloguing activities were not carried out during this quarter.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS & EVENTS:

The quarter included several special programs and engagement activities that enhanced both student participation and community involvement.

The Anjani program was conducted consistently across January, February, and March at multiple locations, involving both parents and students. These sessions strengthened community connection and encouraged parental involvement in children’s learning.

A major highlight was the distribution of 100 library books to one of the centers, contributing to resource accessibility in the community.

Students actively participated in story narration and book-making activities, demonstrating creativity and engagement. Library-based initiatives such as Acti-Learn book utilization in schools and book review sessions further enriched the learning experience.

Orientation sessions on the use of library materials, including Plastic Smart Charts, were conducted to help students better utilize available resources.

FEEDBACK:

Regular interaction with students, teachers, and community members provided positive feedback on library activities and outreach efforts.

Students showed high interest in storytelling, book-making, and digital learning sessions, particularly enjoying creative activities and interactive formats. The use of Alexa devices and digital tools was appreciated for making learning more engaging and inquiry-based.

Teachers actively participated in training sessions and appreciated the storytelling methodologies and activity-based approaches introduced during the quarter.

Community participation through Anjani programs reflected strong parental interest and support for the initiative. Outreach sessions also received encouraging responses, highlighting the importance of extending learning beyond the library space.

CONCLUSION:

The Vidya Jyothi Library at Kuppam Campus demonstrated steady progress and strong engagement during the January to March 2026 quarter. With a growing collection of books, active participation from students and teachers, and consistent outreach efforts, the library successfully promoted a culture of reading and learning.

The integration of digital tools such as Apni Pathasala and Alexa devices further enhanced the learning experience, while community-based initiatives strengthened overall impact.

Moving forward, greater focus on systematic book cataloguing, expanding digital integration, and increasing outreach activities will further improve the effectiveness and reach of the library program.

Kuppam Campus: Library Activity & Metrics Summary

BRIEF:

The Vidya Jyothi Library at Kuppam successfully delivered its programs and activities during October and November 2025, focusing on collection management, educational activities, and community outreach. Key activities included the celebration of Library Open Day, regular Digital Library (DL) sessions, and engaging workshops for teachers. The campus library recorded a high level of engagement, with 1020 unique students visiting the library during this two-month period, contributing to a substantial total exposure count of 3378.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:
Daily and weekly activities focused on leveraging the library resources for educational delivery, conducting outreach, and enhancing digital literacy.

Educational Delivery: Regular visits and out-reach sessions were conducted at the library.
Teacher Engagement: Government teachers participated in an engagement session titled "Story telling with puppets", which was led by a staff member.
Digital Integration: "Apni Pathasala" under the Digital Learning (DL) session was conducted by a staff member.
Technology Utilization: The Alexa device was utilized during sessions for improving the questioning attitude among students.

LIBRARY COLLECTION & METRICS:
The library collection and usage metrics demonstrate continued operations and high user engagement.

Books Acquisition: The library received 4 books from individual donors.

Books Cataloguing: NO books cataloguing was done during October to November 2025.

Library Users (Snapshot): The library recorded various visitor categories, including Students, Teachers, Staff, and General Visitors.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS & EVENTS:
The period featured a major outreach event that greatly expanded the library's reach.

Library OPEN DAY: This event was celebrated on November 28, 2025.

Participation: 4 private schools and 6 government schools participated.

Attendees: A total of 662 students and 25 teachers attended the Open Day.

CONCLUSION:
The Vidya Jyothi Library successfully completed its planned activities for October and November 2025. The library effectively integrated digital tools (Apni Pathasala, Alexa) and focused on valuable community engagement. The total exposure for the period, including the Open Day, reached 4040. Future focus should include resuming the book cataloguing process to maintain collection management efficiency.
