Cedar Village Retirement Community hosted a national symposium on June 10 and 11 for elder abuse prevention and elder abuse shelters. There are now eleven shelters nationally, some fully operational and some still in developmental stages. But this is not close to the number of shelters that are needed nationally.
The Shalom Center for Elder Abuse at Cedar Village helps individuals by giving them a place to stay while they begin the work to get their lives back. When victims of abuse arrive at Cedar Village, they arrive with only the clothes on his back. Staff members will assess their needs and shop for clothing and personal items for them so that they can be integrated into the Cedar Village family with dignity and respect.
Your donation will help buy clothing and toiletries for those who are in need of help at a critical time in their lives.
