Cedar Village is proud to be the home of the Shalom Center for Elder Abuse Prevention. The Shalom Center provides a safe haven for individuals over the age of 65 who are victims of abuse, including a full range of health care and supportive services and a coordinated system of care.
While victims are living at Cedar Village in a safe environment, they enjoy the many programs and activities that enrich the lives of all of the residents. They participate in art, music, and exercise classes. They enjoy having lunch in the deli with their new friends, and they especially like attending stimulating educational programs.
“I can’t thank you enough for providing my mom a place to stay while she figured out what to do next. My mom was embarrassed by what happened to her and she didn’t know where to go. You provided her that place. Thank you,” said daughter of a victim of elder abuse.
