Dear Supporters,
Thank you for standing with us and making this work possible.
On April 3rd, Freedom Jasmine launched its first legal awareness session in Daraya, bringing together 17 women — including wives of detainees, families of the missing, and women returning from displacement and earthquake-affected areas.
This session marked an important step in supporting these women, not only through aid, but through knowledge and empowerment.
For many participants, this was the first time they were introduced to the concept of reparations within transitional justice — not as charity, but as a legal right protected under international law. They learned that the harm they have endured — whether physical, psychological, or financial — is recognized, and that their right to seek remedy exists even when those responsible have not been identified.
For women who have spent years navigating uncertainty and loss, this moment carried deep meaning. It offered something many had been denied for far too long: recognition, clarity, and the understanding that their suffering is acknowledged within the framework of justice.
To ensure privacy and individual support, one-on-one legal consultations were also made available for those who wished to speak confidentially.
This is just the beginning of a longer journey — one that your support continues to make possible.
Thank you for being part of this impact.
