We would like to thank everyone who has donated towards our malnutrition project. Every month Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital receives a high number of malnourished children who are living under very poor conditions. These children come from very poor families which cannot afford a meal or even a proper roof over their heads. The living conditions of these families is so unfavourable that is why Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital decided to treat and rehabilitate such children at a free cost.
In the past three months whispers has treated quite a big number of malnourished patients compared to other conditions. most of these patients come in when they can barely feed, sit, talk, walk. and they usually stay longer on ward since malnutrition takes time. In our hospital, 30% of the patients we receive are malnourished and this is due to the poor living condition back in their homes.
Acase in point, last month we received a 7 months pregnant mother (22 yrs old) who had brought her 11 months old baby admitted in our nutrition ward and she got complications on her pregnancy where we ended up doing an emergency C section on her and after delivery her condition got worse because she had dialysis and we had to get an emergency ambulance and rush her to a regional referal hospital in the city (125 KMs ) away to save her life, she left her malnourished baby in our nutrition and the new born in our NICU both of them being taken care of by our nurses, after working on her a week back we brought her back and this was all free of charge since she was really doing bad financially. we are so happy that we were able to save her life plus the lives of her 2 children and all of the three got discharged after 3 in a very good condition and happy to have been helped by whispers.
Most of the patients we treat can barerly afford two meals a day, yet those children needs good feeding. we had there fore started a project of supporting them, with one month food after their discharge.this was only able before the COVID19 lockdown came in where our outreach team could visit their families and deliver them food.
It is through your generous donations that we have been able to transform the lives of young innocent souls in the Busoga region. Thank you for not giving up on us and we too are committed to making a difference in the lives of mothers and Children in the region and Uganda at large.
We are so appreciative of your your endless support!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our esteemed donors for the endless support and donation towards our projects especially treating malnourished children in Eastern region and Uganda at large. With the help of your donations, we have been able to give lives back to the malnourished children in uganda.
Malnutrition is one of the common problems that affect most children here in eastern Uganda. This is due to the high poverty levels and we are in the second wave of covid 19 lockdown where inter district lockdown is implimented as parents are not able to work and provide for their families.
Weakening of the immune system and increasing the susceptibility of the body to infections are some of the ways malnutrition affects the health of children. We receive many cases of malnutrition with complications of oedema, Dematorsis, pulmonary tuberculosis. Most of these children require chest x-rays before admission to rule out the possibility of Tuberculosis. However parents cannot afford even to pay for the x-rays.
A case in point is a mother (Mama Brielle) who read about how we help the malnourished in the region, the mother travelled from a far district (Mbale) to reach out to us since she had moved to almost every hospital she knew about be it private or government but with no change in the baby's health. she contacted us through facebook and got our address on reaching here she got the best services she had never received and within a week her baby had picked up and left happy with the baby looking so healthy. We were able to avail her with the nutritional rehabilition tips, foods and how to feed the baby.
As you very well know most of the malnourished cases take long period to get better so they stay longer in wards than other diseases which makes it costly.
For the past three months, whispers has had a total of 117 children in nutrition ward who were all treated free and this involves chest X-rays of each and every patient admitted in our nutrition to rule out PTB (Pulmonary Tuberculosis) which is costly and we usually send them to another facility to do the chest Xray since we do not have the machine yet at our facility.
The fact that the number of nutritional cases keep increasing in our hospital day in day out, and we are still a small hospital (space wise) we managed to even swap wards with our Annex ward so that the bigger ward is given to nutrition because nutrition cases needs to be in a spacious enough room.
We therefore can not thank you enough for your continuous donations made towards this project. With your help we are committed to making a difference in the lives of children in Eastern region and Uganda at large!
We are so appreciative!

Only in 2020, we treated 10,862 patients; out of those were 1526 visits to our maternity and gynaecology department.

Malnutrition is one of the common problems that affect most children here in eastern Uganda. This is due to the high poverty levels and the partial lockdown as parents are not able to work and provide for their families.

Your continuous donations help us to support these children with all the examinations that are required and we are glad they leave with smiles on discharge.
Through you donations, we have been able to rescue severely malnourished children from very poor families in the villages. We have also been able to provide for them food to support the parents as the children get better.
We are very grateful for your donations that have made this amazing work possible.
We would like to thank everyone who has donated towards our malnutrition project. Every month Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital receives a high number of malnourished children who are living under very poor conditions. These children come from very poor families which cannot afford a meal or even a proper roof over their heads.
The living conditions of these families are so unfavourable that is why Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital decided to treat and rehabilitate such children at a free cost. The parents of these malnourished children don't have to hustle looking for money to pay the malnutrition medical bills all thanks to our beloved donors who have made this possible.
In the past three months Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital received 40 malnourished patients who came for nutritional rehabilitation. Among these was a one and a half years old baby girl who was admitted as a referral with severe a cute malnutrition with Odema, skin dermatosis, hypothemia and malaria. The care taker had lost hope and needed reassurance. The child was rehabilitated by our nutritionist, improved greatly and was discharged and given plumpy nut at no cost. The child is now looking much better.
Thank you so much for supporting these children.
