Encouraging education in Cameroon
By Mbeng Simon Nsah | The Director BFF
BFF has sponsoring 40 children is primary and secondary schools for 2013/2014 academic year. This has helped to mitigate the illiteracy rate in Cameroon society. Initiately we intended to sponsor 39 children this academic year but the resources at our disposal have made it possible for us to increase the number of opportunities.
BFF authorities have been working in close collaboration with school authorities in order to ensure the effectiveness of this project. At the end of the last academic term, the beneficiaries of the scheme were brought together to evaluate their successes, find out their their challenges and develop strategies for the way forward.
In deed all the children who have benefitted from this scheme had very good results and this has been very encouraging to us. Some of the students who had difficulties in spite of their good performances were provided the necessary didactic materials in order to further improve on their performance this term. Parents were encourage to assist the children back home to study rather abandoning them only to the teachers.
BFF continues to thank all those who are contributing in whatever way to make this scheme a success.

Helping Reduce Illiteracy in Cameroon-39 Students Sponsored in the 2013-2014 academic school year
By Mbeng Simon Nsah | The Director of BFF
BFF has intended to sponsor 35 children is primary and secondary
schools for 2013/2014 academic year. This is to help mitigate the
illiteracy rate in Cameroon society.
This intended children were to be drawn from marginalized or under
privileged backgrounds. On the whole we have many pupils and students
competing for this opportunity which is limited by the financial means
at our disposal.
Since last July BFF has been very busy on the field holding meetings
and scrutinizing the pupils and students' results. On the whole 39
students/pupils were finally selected instead of the of the supposed
35 children. Out of this number 20 were from the secondary schools and
19 from the primary school.
For the students in the secondary school each of them received the sum
of 25000 francs ($50) as tuition and the pupils in the primary school
received the sums ranging from 13500 francs to 18000 francs ($27 to
$36) depending on the school. This money was spent on textbooks and
tuition for the deserving children.
In deed we are very delighted to our donors for the wonderful gesture
they made to help these poor children to be able to continue their
education. On be behalf the children, their school administrators and
BFF we wish to appreciate you very immensely for your support. Keep
being part of it and a child will always smile somewhere.
Thank you
Mbeng Simon

Hoping To Sponsor At Least 35+ Students!
By Mbeng Simon Nsah | The Director of BFF
The child sponsor project has been very much alive within the BFF program. Since the last report many meetings have been held to plan for the forthcoming academic year 2013/2014 school year. These meetings were planned to develop the modalities for the selection of the pupils/students during the next school year. The results of the pupils/students sponsored last year were analyzed. Also two meetings with parents and sponsored children were held to evaluate the successes and difficulties encountered during the last school year. These meetings resulted in the way forward in order to improve on the project activities during the next academic year. Also we have been very busy on the field searching for funds for the project. As of now we tentatively intend to sponsor 22 primary school pupils by paying their tuition and buying their basic textbooks while in the secondary school we intend to pay the tuition fees of 17 students. Each student will be paid 25000francs ($50). However, BFF intends to increase the number of pupils and students to be sponsored before the beginning of the year depending on the how much funds come in. We intend to organize one or two meetings to finalize everything before school begins. It is worth mentioning that a greater amount of this funds has come from Shared World Vision - a USA based Non-Governmental organization. We apologize for having this report late to everybody-- we were experiencing terrible internet and light issues in Fundong.
