Project Launch: Empowering 400 Vulnerable Girls to Return to School in Mombasa
We are pleased to announce that Kenya SRH Care CBO's project, "Help 400 Vulnerable Girls Return to School in Mombasa," is now officially live on GlobalGiving.
This marks an important milestone in our mission to ensure that vulnerable girls in Mombasa have equitable access to education, remain in school, and realize their full potential. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our vision with a global community of supporters committed to advancing education and empowering girls.
Across Mombasa County, many girls between the ages of 12 and 19 continue to face significant barriers to education. Poverty, the inability to afford school fees and essential learning materials, limited access to menstrual hygiene products, teenage pregnancy, gender-based violence, early marriage and social stigma all contribute to school absenteeism and school dropout. These challenges deny many girls the opportunity to complete their education and build brighter futures.
Through this initiative, Kenya SRH Care CBO aims to support 400 vulnerable girls by providing educational assistance, including payment of school fees, school uniforms, learning materials, dignity kits, mentorship, psychosocial support and referrals to appropriate support services. The project will also strengthen collaboration among schools, parents, community leaders and relevant government agencies to foster safe, inclusive and supportive learning environments where girls can thrive.
As we begin this journey, our immediate focus is on establishing strong partnerships with key stakeholders, developing a transparent and equitable beneficiary identification and selection process and finalizing implementation plans. These preparatory activities will ensure that, as funding and other resources become available, support is delivered efficiently and reaches the girls who need it most.
We extend our sincere appreciation to GlobalGiving for approving our project and providing a platform that connects local organizations with compassionate supporters from around the world. This opportunity enhances our capacity to mobilize resources and expand our impact in the communities we serve.
To everyone visiting our project page, thank you for believing in the transformative power of education. Your generosity—regardless of the amount—will help remove barriers that keep girls out of school and give them the opportunity to pursue their education with dignity, confidence and hope.
Together, we can create lasting change by empowering vulnerable girls in Mombasa to return to school, complete their education and build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
With sincere gratitude,
Kenya SRH Care CBO
