At Chaani Secondary School in Mombasa, KESCO conducted an interactive life-skills session reaching38 school-going children as part of our Help 400 Vulnerable Girls Return to School project. The session provided learners with a supportive environment to participate in discussions, ask questions and strengthen important skills related to confidence, decision-making, personal development and navigating everyday challenges.
For KESCO, supporting vulnerable girls to remain in school goes beyond addressing material barriers. Learners also need opportunities to develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills that support their wellbeing and continued participation in education. The engagement at Chaani Secondary School allowed our team to interact directly with learners and reinforce the importance of personal development alongside academic learning.
This activity contributes to our broader approach of combining education support with life-skills development, mentorship, menstrual health support, psychosocial support, protection, referrals and community engagement. Through these complementary interventions, KESCO is working toward creating stronger support systems around vulnerable girls so they have a better opportunity to remain engaged in school and pursue their aspirations.
We are grateful to our supporters for being part of this journey. The 38 learners reached at Chaani Secondary School represent another important step toward our goal of supporting 400 vulnerable girls.Your continued support enables KESCO to reach more learners and strengthen the educational and personal support they need to learn, grow, and build their futures with confidence.
