Dear Friends, 10-04-19
Thank you for your continued support to GLS, GLV and GLH. God has given us another chance to share about the school progress. Last years leavers results were excellent. Julius, our math/science teacher continue to deliver service well to our learners. (See the attached photo). James has had an opportunity to interact with classes learning student’s experience, an excitement in the photo attached. Nursery children can now express themselves , mention the name of their school, church , Teachers , welcome visitors in their class, sing songs, spell out words etc.
Some of our ex-GLH boys have Joined us in Carpentry learning They can now produce class desks, accurately measure dimensions and do good Joinery work. GLS can now have students desks at less costs as we only buy Timbers/nails. Teachers are looking at November sitting time as now and so learners are being tasked with homework, good marking with suggestions on the way forward, students discussions groups, study tours etc-Pray for them.
You will recall, that last year our leaving students excelled qualifying to secondary level but sending GLH to others schools would be too expensive. We have started a small scale teaching/ tutorial unit taking P7 GLH leavers to O level. The unit is temporary, expected to see the 2018 and 2019 leavers to O level. Some of the lessons are guided reading with later review. The groups are small and self-disciplined. We would appreciate any support with reading books.
The classroom building is now in use. Adjacent to our school there is a plot of Land 50ft by 100ft on sale worth 42M This plot will really help us put Pit latrine toilets on, Kitchen and children play ground needed by ministry of education. GLH was very saddened by the death of our beloved friend and supporter brother Philip whom the Lord called on 23 March. He has encouraged me at a distance
Prayer Request s
-Please pray for my meeting with two supporting organizations
- Classrooms properly equipped
- Pray for the widow to Philip that the Lord will comfort her in this difficult time.
- My Mother’s healing to happen if it will be God’s will.
-Pray that our lovely supporters will be there for life until we reach Heaven – Good people keep going away leaving us desperate.

Blessings,

James
