News for God’s Love Home and School                            April 2020

Dear Friends,

I asked you dear friend to pray for me as that would be the means for my receiving supernatural help during the COVID19 turmoil. God’s hand is ongoing to our children and families in Kibwa. You have shared wisdom on how to softly move forward with measures /prevention of c19 –Many of you have bothered to explain ways of protection, myself passing the word to the children and carers at GLH. The isolation continues with most transport means on hold until further communication from the President.

When it was clear that there would be a lockdown we sent 14 of the children to the Farm where it would be easier to feed them though sadly some got malaria. Lockdown started with no transport on the roads, apart from Government vehicles, and there were initial problems getting food into Kampala and some prices have risen (a loaf of bread was 4000UGX after 5000-6000, posho 2,000 now 2,500).  We have brought children in from some Guardians, who were having problems getting supplies, into GLH. We have limited supplies but the food inevitably is monotonous, posho and beans each day. Children at the farm are planting some crops alongside reading the Bible and school books, story books, learning gospel songs etc. At GLH, they are reading story books, learning etc. The GLV students have never lost any of their time since they are internally locked with study things inside.  

Project praise and prayer points

1. I am thanking God for the three who have sent supplies to my local branch to support with feeding for one month
2.  We are working through the farm document to ensure that this project yields good results for children food and profits.

1. Requested money for classroom block completion not yet but this could wait as all the focus is on feeding the children during this time. No news from government promise of maize corn and Beans. 
2. Children at the Farm are doing good under a good care
3. Our morning prayers have taken roots –praise and worship though in small numbers as one of the measure to COVID19 – Our faith in Lord Keep going up each and every morning praise his mighty name. We felt the lord speaking to us through Jeremiah2:22 for though you wash yourself with nitre, and take you much soap, yet your iniquity is marked before me, says the Lord. We felt the lord is asking for Holiness other than just washing for covid19
4. Food lines are growing as people are left to wonder how they will get their next meal. Families who have never needed help before are now finding themselves in an unfamiliar reality - living with food insecurity.  
5. Long life to our generous supporters; regular fund 25pounds could feed/educate a child for a month

Greetings Friends  and I hope this email finds you well. I pray that your family and loved ones are safe. 

 All is well on my end and the Lord is protecting us. Our children at God’s Love Home and School in Uganda are well.    For Uganda, there are about 53 confirmed COVID-19 cases; 4 recovered and zero death at this time. We pray it doesn't get worse.

 The country is on lockdown: schools, churches, public places, and transportation systems are shutdown and our President has just extended this for a further three weeks. Originally no transport was allowed on the roads apart from government vehicles but now trucks delivering food are allowed.  Most businesses are closed and many who rely on a daily wage have no money.  The government has promised posho and beans but we have yet to have any.  It can be difficult to find food within walking distance and prices have risen.  I am so grateful to friends who are keeping us going.  Without your help we would be in real difficulty.

 Let me tell you of some adjustments we have made.  I have sent 14 of the children, who normally live in GLH, to our farm where they can be more easily fed. 10 of our children with guardians have moved into GLH to ease the problems faced by guardians, many have several of their own children and have lost income.  There remain a further 14 with guardians who can better manage the present situation.  To support our guardians and their families we have bought some maize (corn) flour, beans, rice, salt, kerosene, and soap  supporting around a further 30 children. (Most of the children attend our school at God’s Love School).
