Feed & Educate an Orphan Child for a year in Kenya

Feeding program has not only restored hope for children in this area, but has also made sure that the number of children has remained in school.  This region is known for child labor especially this season where by majority a company the caretakers or family members to farms to work and get food. For this reason the numbers drops drastically for children attending schools.

But since we have closely with two affected schools, we have seen increased number of children remain and stay in school as they are rest assured of getting at least a meal. It has been possible through your continued support and contributions on globalgiving. We remain focused and determined that at this hard time of the year, we will continue supporting all the orphans and needy children.

Kemboi 12 year old child that we have seen his live improve and changed. He has remained in school always as compared to the time he was staying at home. We are happy that we have put a smile on his face.

Juhudi children works directly with the community in their activities. We normally engage the community members in planning of organization activities and project throughout the year.  For us the community is the pillar of the organization, without them we cannot work well. This year their engagement was extremely high especially in donations and community service. They managed to support the feeding program by giving out maize and beans. This has boosted our budget by making sure that the children are assured of getting porridge. As organization we felt that it is good to share this with our donors across the world.

This year we have planned to reach more children in school and support them. We have increased the number of the schools. We have seen that there is a lot of need and the community is willing to support the project. It is our desire as organization to reach more needy children in the North-Rift region.

The feeding program for children in school has been the most powerful project of the year. It has really done well in the school that we work with in Trans-Nzoia County. Most of the children have improved on their health, nutrition and performances also. School retention is very high compared to other years where the number was very low. There is more demand of increasing the number of schools in the project next year. We have done our evaluation for the year and come up with areas to consider and improve. One of the areas that need to be of our concern is the feeding project. This area needs a lot of funds to run the project well.

At the moment we work with 5 schools and we intend to add 5 more schools in 2019 so that we reach more children. Most of the children come from far and this makes them not to attend school often. We want to reduce absenteeism in school by making them stay in school always. Also these children they can be kidnapped or raped on the way home. We have witnessed such incidences where a child is missing expecially during lunch time hours. We want to make these children to be safe at school. They start taking their lunch in school.

I want to thank all our well wishers and donors for your kind support this year. You made our projects to continue running. On behalf of Juhudi fraternity I want to thank you so much, may almighty God see you through your endeavors. Wish you happy new year 2019.

It is very exciting that as we are coming to the end of the year, we have achieved a lot and very impressing work. Early this year we enrolled our feeding program targeting most vulnerable children. More than 60 children, who could not access education, used the feeding program to remain in school as some of them were followed to their homes. “We are very proud has children to be always in school and now we are sitting for our end year exams. We thank our officer from Juhudi who has been with us throughout the year in seeing that we remain in school. We appreciate what you do and hope that you will continually support in the course of next year”. As we were speaking to James a very intelligent orphan boy who led the others in singing, we were touched with her inspiring and words of hope to continue supporting more. More than 100 children who have received our support will sit for end year exams from different schools. As Juhudi we really appreciate those have contributed towards this project. We look forward in increasing more support to other schools to reach more children in the year 2019. God bless you, thank you.

FEEDING PROGRAM SAVES LIFE OF CHILDREN IN SCHOOL

Juhudi children organization operates in an area whereby in the month of June and July we experience hunger. These two months are very critical whereby children goes to school hungry because the food is not at home at all. Their parents have to go every day to work in the big farms of rich people in the area so that they can get food for their children. You find most of the children they don’t go to school. Sometimes they follow their parents to work so that they can get enough food.

This feeding program has saved those children that come from those schools we work with. They make sure they attend school daily so that they cannot miss that food. This has motivated other children from neighboring school to ask transfer. Even their parents have come to our offices pleading to us to help other schools too. We us organization we are trying to reach those schools but the challenge is funds. We cannot manage to support those children from other schools but if we get enough funds from our donors and well wishers, we will reach them. It is our wish to help every child that can afford a meal at home.

On behalf of the organization and children I would like thank all donors and well wisher for your kind donation that we have received since we started this project. We have seen the impact of the project since the inception. God bless you so much.
