Feeding program transform lifes of children in sch
By Lucas Fwamba | Programs manager
This feeding program has brought a lot of impact in the school. This year we have witnessed the rate of absenteeism has reduced to zero. Most of the pupils especially in lower classes where they need more of our support have reduced tremendously compared to last years. We did an assessment to all schools that we support. We had to add more schools so that we can reach more children as per our strategic plan. These will enable other children to remain in school rather than going home for lunch. Most their parents they cannot afford lunch every day so this will subsidize them. Their parents are always out working to the farms at least to get something for the family in the evening. Also we have supported them with teaching aids and playing materials for enabling children to learn better.
As the Juhudi we wish to reach more children in Trans-Nzoia where most of the families are squatters and homeless. Most of their children get one meal every day. Other families our affect during the post-election violence in 2007, so they have been displaced. But we thank God that through your continuous support towards the project has really helped us moving. We intend to link up with more well wishers and the community that we work with to support our project so that more children can benefit. I hope this year will touch more lifes that are in needy.

Children feeding program in school on high demand.
By Lucas Fwamba | Programs manager
Children feeding program in school on high demand.
The feeding program for children in school has been the most powerful project of the year. It has really done well in the school that we work with in Trans-Nzoia County. Most of the children have improved on their health, nutrition and performances also. School retention is very high compared to other years where the number was very low. There is more demand of increasing the number of schools in the project next year. We have done our evaluation for the year and come up with areas to consider and improve. One of the areas that need to be of our concern is the feeding project. This area needs a lot of funds to run the project well.
At the moment we work with 5 schools and we intend to add 5 more schools so that we reach more children. Most of the children come from far and this makes them not to attend school often. We want to reduce absenteeism in school by making them stay in school always. Also these children they can be kidnapped or raped on the way home. We have witnessed such incidences where a child is missing expecially during lunch time hours. We want to make these children to be safe at school.
I want also to thank all the well wishers and donors for your support this year. You made our projects to continue running. On behalf of Juhudi fraternity I want to thank you so much, may almighty God see you through your endeavors. Wish you all merry Christmas and happy new year 2018.

Juhudi changing lives of children
By Lucas Fwamba | Programs manager
Juhudi children is a community based organization working with orphan and vulnerable children and girls at risk of dropping out of school due to early marriage. The organization based in Trans-Nzoia County. Their main focus is to help this young children and girls to arrive at their dreams. High rate of girls getting married has become the main challenge across the county. Also children from poor background and orphans don’t attend school regularly.
Most of these children are used in big farms to work so that they can get food. They don’t get time to go to school daily because they can’t hungry in school. As Juhudi we have tried our best to reach some of children and talk to their parents to allow them to be in school as we provide lunch. This is why we came up with feeding program in school to help such children to remain in school. This program has really helped but the challenge is only fewer school benefit. It is our wish to extend this program to many schools to many schools but we lack the funds for expansion. The little money we get from our well wishers, friends and donors has boosted the program a lot. We really appreciate you people for those kind donations
We are now identifying other schools to add to the program hoping that we will get more funds for them. Also to start up business for the parents of these children so they can get money to cater basic needs for their children.
