Monica and Lillian can't forget the fun and enjoying moment when they were proud roughing after Juhudi children in crisis shared meals together before the close of 2012. After spending their most of the time in school and some of them not meeting their peers in the course of the year, these children were smiling and enjoying themselves. It was such moment that will remain in their minds for years to come and times that they will never have taught nor their parents in life. It was exciting moment that children will never forget as they also started a New Year together where they shared there experience as they were on the past. Thanks for your continuity support as you made this children smile all the way from 2012 to now 2013.
After staying with Joel a 5 years old boy for six months, he has passion of being a Mechanic Engineer, he is ready and determined to learn and achieve his dreams after he was provided with a school uniform. Joel who seems to be a naturally intelligent boy, show very strong leadership characters as he plays with other children. He is the one who takes the responsibility to organize the other children to have any play activity. His behaviors are motivating and he is often seen advising his senior children. It exciting that many children are still getting exposed to education and access food which has raised the number of the children that we support directly.
From the nature of Trans-Nzoia County, it is really challenging and though for the young children who cannot work and expect to be fed by their parents. Once the children are left by their parent and even without food the whole day, they can't attend classes therefore the number of those attending school the months of May, June, July and August are challenging.
Through the initiative of Juhidi organization working closely with one ECD school nearby has seen a number of children remain in school. Supporting Chepkaitit came to agreement with the head of the school to eliminate the challenge of children remaining at home. As Brian a 5year old boy says "am happy that these days I get food in school and I can learn till I go home when my mother is back from work".
Thank you.
The months of February and March have been busy with many activities at Chepkaitit where more than 60 children have been participating in various activities of child development. All this children comes from families which were affected by the post election in Kenya. We are happy that we have brought more than children together through our food support and materials. These children get enough time to interact and other sessions support as they are seen traumatized by what had happened. Brian a small and intelligent boy tells a story on what happens to children once there is a problem and says “am very happy to have food and ball. I will make a good team of children to go abroad and play with other good children and people” This brings strength of the work that you are doing in supporting these children.
The month of December was very exciting for children who shared their holiday together for meals. A number of them orphans and children from single parents had very tremendous times. January has started and it's of joy that these children are going to join various schools as they will access food which is the most important thing in child development. "Am thankful, God bless, do it again, am happy" these were some of the remarks and quotes from the children after the sharing.
