Feed & Educate an Orphan Child for a year in Kenya

After a continueous feeding program in our schools, we have seen an increased number of children attending school of both orphans and valunerable. January is a hard month that most children face the challenge of attending school due to luck of support. this is where juhudi joins hand with the community and schools to see that children get food and access education. Calnile, Judith and Brian are few among the children who are smillig everyday getting meals and fees support in attaining their education. We are both supporting these children in their homes and the schools that we work with."am happy to get uniform and food to continue with my education" said Calnile. " i will always go to school" said Judith. " thanks Juhudi for your cntinued support" said Brian.

After supporting children to access food, majority of them are promising to continually remain in school as they get meals while there. John a 7 year old boy orphan is promising with great hope to continually remain in school. John excitedly dances as he takes his meal of the day before schools get closed. “Am dancing because am sure after my school I will serve the community as a nurse taking care of small children like me. Am very happy that Juhudi continually supports us with food. I will always be in school when it opens". Says John. As our feeding program moves on, we will continually support our children both orphans and valunerable children in schools and homes.

On 16th of June every year is the day of an African child. This year Juhudi brought together more than 400 children from 5 schools. The month of June is one of the hardest months in this area as many families cannot cater for the food of their children. Most families take their children to work in the farms exposing them to child labor. Juhudi used this special day and brought the children to have fun play and share meals together on 14th of June. Many people came out to support this great work of Juhudi which sees many children smiling and being happy with meals. “Am very happy that Juhudi comes for our rescue all the time when we are in hard situations. We appreciate all those behind this great work for us”Said Nyakindi 13 years old boy.

On Thursday 21 children from Eronge and Chepkaitit primary schools were supported with their school fees. Through the head teachers of the two schools, we identified the 21 children whom are from vulnerable families and orphans. The children were smiling as they were receiving the support from our project officer. When we met one orphan, a class one pupil, he thought that we were to send him home to get the fees required for him to stay in school. But after a short while, the pupil was smiling and saying “I am happy that I will remain in school like other children. I promise to work hard and thank a lot”. These inspiring words Keep the work of Juhudi going. “We are very grateful as a school for the assistance accorded to our pupils. May the Lord bless you as you continue assisting the needy”. Says the head teacher Eronge primary school.
