A girl's ability to remain in school is influenced not only by what happens inside the classroom, but also by the support she receives at home. When families face poverty, communication challenges, menstrual stigma, financial pressure, or limited understanding of the risks surrounding school dropout, girls can struggle to remain engaged in education.
Keep Her in School therefore recognizes parents and caregivers as important partners in protecting girls' education. Through community engagement, parent discussions, home visits, and sensitization activities, F SSIBU Mission Foundation seeks to strengthen communication between girls and the adults responsible for their wellbeing.
Donor support can help create opportunities for parents to receive practical information about supporting girls through adolescence, encouraging school attendance, discussing menstrual health without shame, responding to educational challenges, and seeking help when a child is at risk of dropping out.
When parents become more informed and engaged, a girl can experience stronger encouragement at home. Challenges that might previously have remained hidden can be identified earlier, allowing families and community partners to respond before they become reasons for permanent dropout.
This approach also helps ensure that support does not end when a girl leaves a program activity. It extends into the household and community where many important decisions about a child's education are made.
Your generosity can help build a protective network around vulnerable girls. Together, we can strengthen families, improve communication, reduce preventable barriers, and create communities where girls are encouraged to stay in school and pursue their dreams.
