Remembering Chelsea's Good Work!

By Julie Hutchison | President, Co-Founder and Chelsea's Mother

While there isn't a lot to report of this project, we have 22 families anxiously awating to attend Epilepsy Awareness Educational Expo and Day at Disneyland this November. These families were awarded in 2020, but with the pandemic, the event went virtual.

We will be deciding over the next few months if we will award any additional trips this year. We'd love to, but as you can imagine, non-profit organizations have been struggling somewhat with fundraising. We have a few big events scheduled and a few fundraisers, like this one, that will help us determine if we are able.

"Wonderful non-profit! Great people. My son won a trip in 2018 and he experienced so many new things while we were there. We went to the epilepsy expo in Disneyland and also learned a great deal while we were there. I feel it is also fantastic that they honor those families, including their own, who have lost loved ones due to SUDEP, by extending their Disneyland/expo trip drawing to families in honor of their loved ones."

"My family has been hugely impacted by the Chelsea Hutchison foundation starting a year after their incorporation date. My husband was watching a news story that Julie Hutchison was on, informing listeners about SUDEP (sudden unexplained death in epilepsy). After watching the story, my husband just needed to go see my son, and he found him face down, barely breathing. This news story had saved his life. We have also been blessed with multiple grants for both our children for seizure monitors, a seizure response dog, and a trip to epilepsy awareness day at Disneyland. We have also been blessed to meet many other families who suffer with epilepsy, and we have become a very supportive family. This foundation has the biggest heart, and my family is blessed to be apart of such an amazing foundation."

We appreciate your support more than words can express.  Our families do too!
