As promised in our last update, on July 16th we announced 12 winners (and their families) to receive all major expense paid trips to participate in the one-of-a-kind Epilepsy Awareness Educational Expo and Day at Disneyland. We no sooner awarded these trips and the live version of this event was canceled for 2020. These families will be our guests in November, 2021 and while it is a LONG TIME to wait, they are all connecting and excited to go.
Chelsea's Golden Birthday would have been on September 28th. We started a 28-day facebook fundraiser asking those who would like to participate to donate $28, celebrating Chelsea's 28th Birthday on September 28th. We were blown away by the support we received and because Chelsea was such a huge Disney fan, we made the decision to award another Chelsea's Wish Trip to the 2021 event each time we reached another $2,500 level. We are pretty darn excited to say that we raised enough to send 9 additional winners. We will have a big crowd, but we feel it is so important to have these families experience not only the amazing expo, designed specifically for them, but to meet and connect with others who understand this journey clearly.
We recently held a COVID-19 version of our annual 5K and another family who registered with a trip as well. We currently have 22 families anxiously awating November 2021.
