Remember Chelsea's Good Work on #GivingTuesday

Thanks to the generosity of donors like you, 104 families have received grants for seizure-response dogs and almost 500 life-saving monitors have been provided. Through Chelsea's Wish, we have had the honor of granting 44 families with all-expense paid trips to participate in the life-changing Epilepsy Awareness Expo and Day at Disneyland.

We recently returned from Epilepsy Awareness Day and Expo at Disneyland at which we hosted 14 families from across the United States - 51 people in all.

One of our recipients says what these trips mean best. "I'm the single mother of an 11yr old little angel. She is epileptic, had her first seizure at 3 and on the 29th of this month will be 1 year tonic-clonic seizure free, even though she has other types. We have been so incredibly blessed by The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation (CHF) this year. My daughter and her dog Fin were CHF's dog grant recipient #100. What a huge accomplishment for CHF and life changer for us! My daughter was also a lucky winner of one of the trips to Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland from Chelsea's Wish, by The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation. Just when you think your heart is full, it starts overflowing and you completely comprehend the meaning of sisterhood. We met other families that do the same thing we do everyday. They understand my thoughts, they get my fears and no one had to say a word.....we all just completely appreciated each other. I've never belonged more to a group of strangers that I claim as family before in my life!! I don't stress as hard. I know I'm going to be ok. We came home, and she has been sick. We've had to change her meds to try and get a grip on what's going on, 5 seizures in 2 weeks is unacceptable for us......but I can breathe while I'm doing this because I have a support system behind me like no other!! Thank You for giving me peace of mind, confidence, a new outlook, a fresh perspective, lifetime sisters, a MUCH NEEDED break with my baby for her to just be herself for a week, friend's that I can consult that are doing the same thing I am."

Chelsea Makes Dreams Come True for 14 Families

In just a few short days, The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation, through Chelsea's Wish, will be hosting 14 families from across the United States at Epilepsy Awareness Expo and Day at Disneyland. These trips are life-changing for our families and we promise to provide photos of this year's event as soon as we return. This brings the number of trips granted to 42.

"Packing is way more fun than unpacking. I sStill cant believe its over. The friendships and memories we have made from the last week will be treasured forever. I cant express our gratitude for The Chelsea Hutchison Foundation and all they have done for all of us. My daughter had an amazing week of realizing and learning she is not alone. Being in a super small community she has always felt like a bit of an outsider. Now she has many new friends that understand her and memories that will help her continue to stay strong- and that goes for all the kids there this week!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! We made the news and wanted to share. Here is our story as told by CBS Denver, Foundation Pairs Girl, Goldendoodle Together To Help Manage Epilepsy. In addition, here is an article written by The Denver Post, How the Chelsea Hutchison Foundation is saving lives through dogs and monitors.

STOMP Out Epilepsy and SUDEP Awareness walks took place across the United States last month. It was a huge success for the Foundation as we stomped in Colorado, California, Nebraska, Illinois, Louisiana and West Virginia. We host Chelsea's Bingo twice a week in Aurora, CO to help fund our projects. It is a big project, but we are committed to grantint comfort and hope those those who suffer from epilepsy.

To date we have provided 103 grants for seizure-response service dogs and have provided over 480 (what we believe to be) life-saving movement monitors for those in need. Thank you for believing in us!
