We are ecstatic to announce that the 2022 Epilepsy Expo at Disney is scheduled and we are all optimistic that it will be an in-person event! We have now randomly chosen 24 families to bring to this life changing event. The families will be awarded all major expenses paid to attend the Expo, followed by Epilepsy Awareness Day at Disneyland, where all Expo attendees wear purple shirts throughout the park, allowing each person to look out at a huge vast of "others" who are effected by Epilepsy. This moment is often life changing for the children/young adults we bring, as they finally can truly see that they are not alone. That there are others fighting the same battles with Epilepsy and seizures.
At the Expo, attendees have the chance to meet face to face with the leading Epilepsy resources, doctors, hospitals, technology, plus much more. There are lectures on various specialties, types of Epilepsies, and breakthroughs. Parents/individuals can learn about new treatments, tests, and various other information packed sessions. It would take months for an individual to access the amount of information packed into this Expo.
Not only do these families have the chance to really learn as much as they could possibly imagine, but the families also get to enjoy some time in Disneyland, as well as time in the hotel with all of our other families. We have seen so many wonderful and supportive friendships begin on this trip. We think that this opportunity can truly shift the course of these families lives, as well as their Epilepsy journey. Thank you so much for helping to make this happen for families and supporting this project. It means so much, to so many.
