This quarter was marked by significant milestones and continued progress in delivering Jobortunity's youth empowerment and employability programs. Through training, partnerships, apprenticeship placements, and practical learning activities, the organization continued to equip young people with the skills and experience needed for successful careers!!
1. Janet's Farewell
On 8th April 2026, Jobortunity bid farewell to Janet, who served as the organization's Social Worker while also providing valuable support to the Human Resources Department. Throughout her time at Jobortunity, she played an important role in promoting student well-being, offering guidance and support, and contributing to various HR functions that strengthened the organization's operations. Staff and students gathered to express their appreciation for her dedication, professionalism, and positive impact on the organization. We are grateful for her contributions and wish her every success in her future endeavors.
2. Class 2025A Graduation
On 24/04/2026 the organization celebrated the successful graduation of Class 2025A, marking the completion of the students' training journey. The graduation ceremony brought together students, staff, partners, families, and invited guests to recognize the achievements and personal growth of the graduates. The event highlighted the students' commitment and resilience and celebrated their readiness to transition into apprenticeships, employment, and other opportunities.
3. Apprenticeship Placements
Students also successfully transitioned into their apprenticeship phase and were placed in various partner organizations to gain practical workplace experience. Host organizations included Wayo, TAWISA, and other partner companies that provide supportive learning environments.These placements enable students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during training, strengthen their professional competencies, and build confidence as they prepare for employment.
4. Ongoing Outreach Trainings at Rijk Zwaan
Jobortunity continued delivering outreach training sessions at Rijk Zwaan throughout the quarter. The sessions focused on employability skills, workplace readiness, communication, teamwork, and personal development. The continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering young people and strengthening workforce capacity through quality training initiatives.
5. Selection of New Students for Class 2026B
From 12 to 17th June 2026, Jobortunity successfully conducted the selection process for the new Class 2026B. Following the application and assessment process, 35 students were selected to join the program. The selection process focused on identifying motivated young people who demonstrate commitment and a willingness to learn and grow. The new cohort will begin their training with opportunities to develop employability skills, life skills, and practical workplace competencies that will prepare them for meaningful employment and future career success.
6. Student Project Activities and Showcase
Throughout the quarter, students actively participated in a variety of practical projects designed to strengthen their technical skills, creativity, teamwork, and responsibility while encouraging experiential learning. Some of these activities include:
- Cooking Activities: Students planned and prepared different meals, enhancing their food preparation, hygiene, organization, time management, and collaboration skills. These activities increased their confidence and ability to work effectively in a structured environment.
-Shamba Project (Vegetable Planting): Students continued to develop and maintain the training garden by planting and caring for various vegetables. The project provided hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture, crop management, and environmental stewardship while reinforcing the values of consistency, teamwork, and responsibility.
-Art and Music :Students showcased their creativity through art and music activities that promoted self-expression, confidence, and collaboration. These sessions provided an engaging platform for developing communication skills and nurturing individual talents while contributing to a vibrant learning environment.
The project showcase demonstrated the diverse talents and practical abilities of the students and reflected Jobortunity's holistic approach to youth development by integrating technical, creative, and life skills training.
