The best is yet to come!

Welcoming Class 2025A to Jobortunity!

On 20th January 2025, we were thrilled to introduce our newest cohort, Class 2025A! This exceptional cohort of 17 boys and 11 girls embark on this transformative journey to gain essential life and employability skills, preparing them for successful careers and a brighter future.

The day was filled with memorable moments, including an orientation where Jobortunity staff introduced themselves, provided new students with an overview of the campus, and engaged them in the Building Trust lesson featuring various icebreakers. The day concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by the Managing Director, to officially mark the enrollment of the new class.

At Jobortunity, we believe in nurturing talent, fostering confidence, and equipping youth with the right mindset to thrive in the professional world. This new class represents a generation full of potential, ready to embrace learning and growth.

We look forward to seeing their progress and the impact they will make in their communities. Let’s give a warm welcome to Class 2025A.

A Special Visit from Rob at Achmea Foundation

On 17th January 2025, Jobortunity was honored to welcome Rob from the Achmea Foundation for an insightful two weeks visit. The Achmea Foundation has been instrumental in supporting our marketing efforts through numerous training sessions for over 3 years, helping us reach more youth and stakeholders.

Upon his visit, Rob, accompanied by Joice from our Marketing and Fundraising Department,  visited some of our valued partner companies, including Rijk Zwaan, Enza Zaden, and Fides. These visits provided a great opportunity to strengthen our collaborations, discuss the impact of our training programs, and explore ways to enhance opportunities for our graduates.

Rob also supported our ongoing campaign, which focuses on fundraising for the construction of a Youth Training Centre, in partnership with Future Stars Academy. Through his networks and partnership with Achmea Foundation, Rob helped us secure about 135 Euros in support of the campaign.

We appreciate Rob’s engagement and the ongoing partnership with Achmea Foundation, and we look forward to continuing our collective efforts to empower young people in Tanzania.

Class 2024A & Class 2024B

Back To Apprenticeship

On January 27, 2025, students from Class 2024A and 2024B eagerly returned to their apprenticeship placements, taking the next step in their professional development. Through partnerships with esteemed companies such as Wilderness Wayo, Rijk Zwaan, Kili Villa, Tanganyika Wilderness Camps, Plantation Lodge, Schwari, and others, our students are gaining hands-on experience in real work environments. These apprenticeships are not just an extension of their training—they are a transformative opportunity for students to apply their skills, build professional networks, and prepare for successful careers.

After six weeks of apprenticeship in the mentioned companies, both classes got back on 17th March 2025, gearing up for an upcoming graduation for Class 2024A.

We look forward to an exciting graduation ceremony!

Trainings at Rijk Zwaan

Throughout January 2025 Jobortunity trainers had an incredible opportunity to participate in a training session at Rijk Zwaan, one of our valued partner companies. This session provided them with practical knowledge and hands-on experience, allowing them to apply the skills they have learned in a real work environment.

The training focused on workplace skills, professionalism, and industry-specific knowledge, equipping our students with essential tools for their future careers. We are grateful to Rijk Zwaan for their continued support in empowering young talent and providing a platform for meaningful learning experiences.

Jobortunity is also currently holding another training at Rijk Zwaan, which will take place for two years from 2025 to 2027 with two rounds successfully completed, covering topics such as Communication, Teamwork, Conflict Management & Problem Solving. This training incorporates all three Rijk Zwaan branches: Malalua, Afrisem and Q-sem stations, with 15 to 20 participants impacted in each station.

This initiative not only enhances individual capabilities but also strengthens organizational effectiveness, laying the foundation for a more collaborative and resilient workforce at Rijk Zwaan.

Visitors - Dirk and Ruelof

On 17 February 2025,Jobortunity had the pleasure of welcoming two visitors; Dirk - an owner of a Tech Company back in Holland and Ruelof, a lecturer at a university of Applied Sciences back in Holland. While at Jobortunity, they spent time with our students and experienced in class and out of class activities. During their time with our students in class, they shared a presentation of Personal Model Canvas, which covered key areas such a who helps you, what you do, who you are and what you have, who you help, how you help, how you interact and how you do deliver, what you give, and what you give. This model was designed to help the students to identify their values and expose themselves professionally.

Educational Excursion

On January 29, 2025, our students embarked on an inspiring learning experience at Rijk Zwaan’s Afrisem station, diving into the world of modern agriculture and its transformative impact. Rijk Zwaan, a global leader in vegetable and fruit breeding, supplies over 1,800 high-quality varieties to millions across 30+ countries, shaping the future of food production.

During this eye-opening visit, students explored cutting-edge irrigation systems, discovered rare and innovative seed varieties, and gained hands-on insights into sustainable farming practices. They also learned about scientific food preservation techniques, equipping them with valuable knowledge to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable agricultural future.

This visit not only broadened our students' understanding of modern agriculture but also inspired them to think critically about innovative solutions for food security and sustainability. It was a powerful reminder of the vital role agriculture plays in shaping a healthier, more food-secure world.
