We have a new look, we have a new land donated by the current Government of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco (Mexico) and we have Daniel Pouzet as designer of the future Mayama Center Day. These three key events are the result of 5 years of work by Mayama with 240 children and 129 families that currently are in the Program. This is possible thanks to all our GlobalGiving donors, that also helped to get the results of the whole year 2013 that were presented at the event we do every year as part of our philosophy of transparency to the people who join to this project.
In 2013, in education, 79% children stays in school, 15% managed to return to the regular school system and 6% remains in Back to School Program of Mayama to develop concentration skills and readers writing. Also in this year, during the month of July, children from the 2nd generation ended the intensive phase of the skills in 5 areas (I act, I express, I relate with others, I feel, I think) and the family Program (Mayama second generation (children and families who joined in 2011). These guys attended the Center for 4 years and now continue in Phase Change Agent to give continuity to their Life Plan: a project with better life expectancy than their parents.
A very important tool to improve life expectancy in these children, it is not only through the Mayama’s Education Model, but through donors such as GlobalGiving, which always brings out the best of them, and cultural and educational exchange that allow to children known beyond their environment, as the visit of young people from around the world, who made the show "Up with People" for Mayama. They painted a message of peace with our children, and the language was not a barrier. And another example is the recent Mayama library, that was possible thanks to campaign to collect books, organized by Koala College children.
come to visit us whenever you wish!
Thanks a lot!
