Vidya Poshak Skill Training Programs

Most of the students lack confidence and skills because of their socio-economic background, which prevents them from performing well in the selection process/interviews as well as in any public appearance.
Vidya Poshak has been organizing RBCs for the student community since 2007 to bridge the skill and knowledge gap and mold the personality of the participant students. Attending these camps addresses and corrects these shortcomings and enables the students to succeed in getting gainful employment.
So far Vidya Poshak has successfully organized 169 camps covering 9380 trainees.
The efforts continued through the year 2018 as well producing once again encouraging results. A total of 463 students, 177 boys and 286 girls, were trained through 10 RBCs.
Apart from residential bridge camp Vidya Poshak has also organized skill training programs in different education institutions. During the academic year 250+ students were trained through various skill programs.
The students were trained with the focus on the improvement following skills.

Vidya Poshak Skill Training Programs Q3 Report

Our hearty gratitude for your continued support in our endeavor of empowering the educational community. We are on the verge of completing 18 years of existence. During the calendar year 2018 we continued to engage college students through our flagship Nurture Merit Program. We also had programs made for high school children. The initiative to Nurture the Non-academic talent in selected fields is gaining momentum.
- During the year 331 students were trained through 7 Residential Bridge camps till December, 2018 and 4 more are planned for the 4th quarter of the academic year 2018-19.

In the second batch of our IIT/JEE training out of 16 students 6 students cleared JEE mains. The third batch of training program is going on in which 40 students are getting trained.
- Carving out Counsellor program - two batches of interested persons were trained as lay counselors. Till date 67 lay counselors are trained to offer counseling to the needy. The training is being offered by ‘Samadhana Trust’ Bengaluru, headed by Dr. C.R. Chandrashekhar, a renowned psychiatrist.

Abdul Kalam Susandhi Fellowship program is a unique program designed to impart technical skills along with exemplary behavioral skills. 72 students are now part of this program. All previous batch students are successfully placed for industrial training in different companies.

Tutoring in Government Schools: This program is a joint venture between Vidya Pohsak and eVidyaloka. The program addresses shortage of teachers and poor quality of teaching in rural schools. Trained volunteer teachers, based across the world deliver online interactive sessions through skype in vernacular language to the children studying in 5th to 7th class. This program is being run in 20 villages of Dharwad block and 2500 children are being benefitted

Vidya Poshak – GlobalGiving Report – 2nd Quarter (July – Sep 2018)
Vidya Poshak, India is a registered Non-Government Organization (NGO), serving education community from 2001. We strongly believe Education is the solution for Ending Poverty. When we invest in a Young, economically challenged meritorious youth for a few years, we can break the poverty cycle of a family forever.
During the quarter 3 Skill training programs were organized for the students who are studying in Class 11 & 12 covering 165 Students
Prominent objectives of the camps:
- To facilitate students to be more successful in personal and professional life
- To instill confidence through interactive life skills workshops, develop self esteem and enabling to get rid of inferiority complex
- To encourage development of English communication
- To promote the idea that each student can become a leader
- To bridge the gap between the formal education and demands of meaningful career
- To assist the students to set and achieve desired career goals
- To enlighten the students on their rights and responsibilities including social responsibility.
