Project Update - December 2012

December 2012 has been a below average month in terms of PWDs being hired. 5 people were placed in employment that started working for Skills Development Project (NOWPDP). 13 are in the pipeline and they will start their work in the start of January 2013. In addition, more people employment is planned in the future.
What was achieved this month?
5 candidates were selected in total in the month of December’ 2012 and 13 are in the pipeline.
What are we proud of?
- Evaluation of 7 people with hearing impairment was held and their CVs were sent to Aisha Steel Mills and Artistic Milliners.
- Evaluation of 4 people with hearing impaired and intellectually challenging disablility were held in the 3rd week of December.
What companies did we meet?
NOWPDP staff couldn’t meet any new companies this month.

- Number of companies met: 0 (planned: 4)
- Number of applicant CVs sent to employers: 15 (planned: 30)
- Number of applicants commencing employment: 05 (planned: 20)
- Number of applicants selected but not commenced: 13 (in the pipeline)

Project Update - October 2012

Summary of Achievements:
October 2012 has been an average month in terms of PWDs being hired. A total of 9 PWDs were placed in employment.
What was achieved this month?
9 candidates commenced work in the month of October.
What are we proud of?
- Evaluation of 12 people with hearing impaired was held and their CVs sent to Cresox Pvt Ltd.
- Evaluation of 8 people with hearing impaired was held in the first week October and sent their CV to Hobnob (Bakers).
- Planning out a session in which NRS team will teach time management Skills to their candidates (hearing Impaired).
What companies did we meet?
NOWPDP staff met with 4 companiee:
- E2E supply chain management
- Altouq group
- Elixir Securities
- OBS pharma

- Number of companies met: 4 (planned: 4)
- Number of applicant CVs sent to employers: 31 (planned: 30)
- Number of applicants commencing employment: 9 (planned: 20)
- Number of applicants selected but not commenced: 7 (for the NOWPDP Rickshaw Project)

Project Update - September 2012

Summary of Achievements:
September 2012 has been an average month in terms of PWDs being hired. A total of 9 numbers of PWDs were placed in employment. 7 people commenced employment at Cresox (socks factory), 1 person was hired by Shahbaz Garments as a Textile Engineer and 1 person with a physical disability was selected in the first week of September 2012 as a designer at MILF.
What was achieved this month?
- 9 candidates were selected in total in the month of September.
What are we proud of?
- Evaluation of 6 people with hearing impaired was held and their CVs sent to Cresox Pvt Ltd.
- Evaluation of 4 people with hearing impaired was held in the second week September and sent their CVs to Express Tribune (newspaper).
What companies did we meet?
NOWPDP staff met with 4 companies and both seemed keen on the idea of hiring PWDs.
