October 2010 saw some delays with the hiring of candidates that were interviewed. The candidates will commence their work in November. Nevertheless, progress was made with both KESC and Renfro Crescent (both existing employers), who employed a total of 5 additional staff in October.
Evaluations of 14 people with hearing impairments were held, and their CVs sent to Artistic Milliner, a garment manufacturer. NOWPDP is awaiting the results of their interviews.
NOWPDP staff met with Sui Southern Gas Corporation to discuss the employment of people with disabilities. An inspection of the work environment was performed, and discussions of appropriate roles took place. SSGC has pledged to hire persons with disabilities in the future, and are in discussions with NOWPDP.
