Project Update - January 2011

In January 2011, progress was made with an existing employer, Artistic Milliners, and a new employer, Agility Logistics. A meeting was also held with Unilever, who were very positive and encouraging for future hiring of people with disabilities.
What was achieved this month?
- 5 people with disabilities commenced employment
What are we proud of?
- Evaluation of 1 people with mental disability was held for the new company Agility and Logistics.
What companies did we meet, or that agreed to take PWDs?
NOWPDP staff met with Unilever and mutually agreed upon the placements of people with disabilities in the future.

- Number of applicant CVs sent to employers: 17 (Planned: 20)
- Number of applicants selected but not commenced: 2

Project Update - December 2010

Summary of Achievements:
December has been a good month as far as placements are concerned.
8 people with disabilities were previously waiting to commence employment at Artistic Milliners, and they commenced employment in the first week of December 2010. 7 employees waiting to start at Gul Ahmed commenced their internships on 3rd December 2010. In addition, 3 interns at Gul Ahmed completed their internship and were placed in regular employment.
A meeting was held with HBL, who were very positive and encouraging for future hiring of people with disabilities.
Staff at a newly established factory of Artist Milliners’ pledged to take on people with disabilities.
What was achieved this month?
- 15 people with disabilities commenced employment
- An employment evaluation camp was held for people with disabilities for Artistic Milliners
What are we proud of?
- Evaluation of 8 deaf persons was held for future placements
- Evaluation of 2 blind persons was held for future placements
- Evaluation of 3 people with physical impairments was held
- Evaluation of 6 people with mental disabilities was held
What companies did we meet, or that agreed to take PWDs?
- NOWPDP staff met with HBL and mutually agreed upon the placements of PWDs in future
- NOWPDP visited a new plant set by Artistic Milliner to explore the possibility of more hires

Project Update - November 2010

November took off as a good month as far as interviews, evaluations and selection are concerned. However all the candidates selected were put on hold by the concerned companies, for commencement in December.
What was achieved this month?
- 14 persons with a hearing impairment were interviewed at Artistic Milliner, out of which 8 have been selected.
- 7 persons with a mental disability were selected out of 12 for internships at Gul Ahmed. Successful interns will be hired after 3 months.
- Evaluations of 7 persons with a visual impairment and 6 persons with a hearing impairment held for future placements
What companies did we meet, or that agreed to take PWDs?
- NOWPDP staff met with TCS and mutually agreed to place people with disabilities in upcoming special projects and to establish systems for employing PWDs in regular positions.

- Number of applicant CVs sent to employers: 26 (planned: 20)
- Number of applicants commencing employment: 0 (planned: 10)
- Number of applicants selected but not commenced: 15
