In the past three months, we have pointed to the problem of violence against little girls, girls, and women through street actions, theater, television appearances and campaigns through social networks.
- We had three fantastic street actions.
* We send support to a teenage girl from Zadar (Croatia), a victim of sexual violence, and made it clear that impunity was also a crime. We held a banner labeled "Justice for Girls" and made a short video.
* By street action in front of the Basic Public Court in Niš, we supported Marija L. from Brus and send her a message that she is not alone. We called on the competent authorities for the accused to receive the appropriate sentence, and also we informed the citizens about the case. Support and solidarity rallies with Marija are being organized before a court hearing in front of the Basic Court in Kruševac (and a few other cities) against Milutin J., the former mayor of Brus, on the basis of a criminal complaint by Marija L. for sexual harassment of abuse of office.
* With the performance "Women's Cemetery" in Obrenovic Street in Niš we stood for all those whose voice can no longer be heard. Since the beginning of 2019, at least 25 women in Serbia have been killed by their partners, former partners and closest male family members. 16 Days of Activism is a global, worldwide campaign marked by over 5,000 organizations in 180 countries. The campaign begins on November 25th withInternational Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends on December 10th with International Human Rights Day. In Serbia, every 10 days 1 woman is killed by her partner, ex-partner or male family member.
- In Health Center in Niš, we were part of the program on the occasion of November 25th - International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and performed texts about violence from the piece "I Am an Emotional Creature" by Eve E.
- On the occasion of the 16 Days of Activism campaign, we had 2 TV appearances
- We have launched a campaign (and we are still in it) on the social networks "Recognize Violence and Respond" in order to increase the visibility of this problem and thus try to bring to people, first of all, girls and women, closer to what violence is and how it works. Till now posts have 130,000 reaches, 468 shares, 18,502 views, and 39 comments.
Thank you for your attention.
