Performance Recognize Trafficking in Human Beings
Performance Recognize Trafficking in Human Beings

Here is a summary of our successes in the last 4 months.

Enjoy reading. Thank you for being here.

Study visit

In mid-October, we went on a study visit to organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina that primarily deal with the topic of combating human trafficking. We went to Bijeljina, Konjic and Tuzla. Organizations we visited: Otaharin, Lara, Nere, Better Future, Land of Children, Women's Vision. We spoke to 28 people.

The reason for the visit was our need to get acquainted with the way of work of organizations that successfully deal with the problem of human trafficking and, more precisely, forced begging, and learn from them by example. The expected result of the visit is increased knowledge of working with the population at potential risk of trafficking, but also victims of trafficking through the form of forced begging, through observation and participation in the activities of these organizations. The expected result of the study visit was fully achieved, in fact we received more than what we expected and we can recommend the study visit as a very important part of education.

Strategic planning

From November 15 to 17, we held strategic planning. The Strategic Plan for 2022/2024 contains five strategic directions and they are: direct work with children, girls and women with experience of violence and human trafficking; prevention of violence against children, girls and women and prevention of human trafficking; promotion of feminism through engaged art; improving women's health and preserving the environment; strengthening the internal capacities of the Center for Girls and Feminist Youth.

We opened 16 days of activism with a play Oxygen.

20 YEARS OF FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING - 20 YEARS OF FIGHT FOR HUMANS

We organized the premiere screening of the documentary 20 YEARS OF THE FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING - 20 YEARS OF THE FIGHT FOR PEOPLE in Niš, and a panel with the audience after the screening of the film. The film is dedicated to the fight against human trafficking in Serbia, the role of the civil sector, primarily women's organizations in it, and the importance of intersectoral cooperation and ways to improve it. The screening was followed by a discussion on the same topics, where the will of all participants to work together to improve the fight against human trafficking in this area was clearly expressed.

New projects and new activities in 2022: Protect young people in Nis from human trafficking

During 2022, the Center for Girls will educate a group of young people on the topic of combating human trafficking. After that training, they will go through another training on forum theater, after which they will make their own and perform it in front of their peers in 10 high schools in Nis. We will not neglect the teaching staff, so we will prepare interactive lectures on this topic for them, so that they would be informed about the latest trends in the field of human trafficking and be able to react. We will run the campaign "Recognize human trafficking, get information and protect yourself" on our social networks. So stay with us.

The project Protect young people in Nis from human trafficking is supported by the American Embassy in Belgrade.

We marked the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week by sharing a leaflet with important information on how to protect girls and women, as well as a lecture by a gynecologist at the Center for Girls.
