Changed lives in QR1-2023

By Beatrice Chep | Project Coordinator

Our volunteers continue to change lives and influence positive living in Ruaraka communities by directly conducting mentorship and supporting volunteer teaching program in the target partners schools. During the first quarter January- March 2023, the organization with the available resources and through a team of 9 dedicated volunteers provided free teaching assistance and conducted mentorship activities in Emmaus School, Glory Mathare, Elite Scholars, Little Kids Academy, St. Josephs Ruaraka Secondary and Green Valley schools.

Again, last quarter we continued to celebrate our volunteer teachers and mentors who worked tirelessly in the partner schools to improve the academic standards of students. We have witnessed improved performance going by the individual students’ performances and we are happy that our efforts are successful. We are truly changing and improving lives of individuals in Ruaraka community. It is envisioned that more students from the 5 schools will benefit from the project and complete schooling with a high level of literacy and core skills, enabling them to succeed in life.

We are convinced that education plays a key role in the struggle against poverty. When individuals have the chance to learn basic life and literacy skills, economies grow faster, and poverty rates decline. That is why Progressive Volunteers is working in all these projects to support needy students and help schools in economically and socially disadvantaged areas in Ruaraka.
