Updates from Critter Camp

Here it is 2026 already! And we survived January!

We just had 2 weeks of bitter cold- the worst day it was wind chill of minus 35 F! But we kept all the heaters- plus back up heaters- running 'round the clock and kept everyone snuggly warm and safe!

Since our last report we've taken in elder ratties Agatha, Wanda, Opossum, Aries, & Sirius.

And elder guinea piggies Obi, Tarot, & Henry.

Sadly we lost one of our minks- Olaf- he was 9-10 years old which is very old for a mink! He had escaped from a fur farm at about a year old and was found by a kind person who thought he was a ferret at first. Luckily she found us and we are glad we could give him a long happy life here at the sanctuary.

Our washer died and we had to replace it. Our washing machine take quite a beating- we do 6-8 loads of heavy laundry EVERY DAY! Blankets, fleece, sleep sacks, etc for the animals. We have to change out the guinea pig floor blankets daily, and the rabbits every other day, as well as keeping up with the ferrets, mink, fox etc!

Thanks to your support we are able to give the animals in our care the very best safe happy healthy lives possible! Thank you!
