Project Summary:

The SI4DEV Street Business School (SBS) is a mobile business training initiative aimed at empowering women and youth in Nigeria. By providing tailored training and support, SBS seeks to ignite entrepreneurial mindsets, foster economic self-sufficiency, and contribute to sustainable development.

Impact and Outcomes:

The SBS program has demonstrated significant success in improving the financial well-being of its participants. Post-evaluation visits revealed a remarkable 99% increase in income among beneficiaries compared to pre-program levels. This increase is indicative of the program's effectiveness in equipping individuals with the skills and knowledge necessary to start and sustain profitable businesses.

Furthermore, follow-up visits conducted 11 months after program implementation revealed that a high percentage of participants (99%) remained actively engaged in their businesses. Additionally, 29% of participants had expanded their entrepreneurial ventures by starting additional businesses or exploring alternative income sources.

Current Implementation and Future Prospects:

The SBS program is currently being implemented in Soje community of Minna, Niger State, Nigeria, with a cohort of 18 beneficiaries. This ongoing expansion demonstrates the program's commitment to reaching a wider audience and making a lasting impact on the economic landscape of Nigeria.

Conclusion

With the current economic melt down in the country,  SI4DEV Street Business School has emerged as a powerful tool for economic empowerment in Nigeria. By providing targeted training, support, and mentorship, the program has enabled individuals to improve their financial situations, create sustainable livelihoods, and contribute to the overall development of their communities.  We at SI4DEV appreciate your  contributions towards making this project a success.
