Program updates for Spring 2021
Since March 2021 Arts For All has made strides in maintaining our programs and delivering them to our partners in need. As we're now well underway with our programming for Spring 2021 we've wanted to share with you all some of what we're currently working on!
Literacy Through The Arts - beginning at the end of February, we will begin 7 residencies within Renaissance Charter School, 5 of which are for kindergarden, and 2 of which are for 1st grade. Outside of live time virtual facilitation, three of our Teaching Artists Mélissa Smith, Shawn Shafner, and Leah Young will also be working on creating 15 virtual learning videos each to share with our LTA partners such as PS15, PS76, and PS163, to eventually upload to our on YouTube channel.
Artistic Residency Program - Our residencies will begin in March. We are looking forward to starting virtual programs with a number of our long-term partners, including Williamsburg High School of Arts & Technology, New Alternatives for Children, and Renaissance Charter School. We will also be creating a number of additional video tutorials for children to be able to take part in art programs from home this Spring.
Audience Project - We're really excited to announce that Arts For All will restart this program under the guidance of AFA Teaching Artist Darian Dauchan, where we will be producing his production of "Voice Power," which toured to schools live at Arts For All in 2015, this time in a virtual format with 5-6 performances happening this Spring.
Mondays with Mé featuring Mélissa Smith
As part of our new initiative with all of our virtual programming, we're excited to promote our brand new Mondays with Mé weekly live stream events featuring Arts For All Teaching Artist Mélissa Smith!
Having launched on January 18th, 2021, we plan to have program every Monday going through the end of June. This program takes place on our Facebook page every Monday at 1pm EST, where Mélissa, in live time focuses on a daily reading from a children's book, as well as movement activities to help keep young children engaged in all of the fun! For the month of February Mondays with Mé are specially focused on Black History Month, and in March will be focused on Women's History Month.
Please join us for our next Mondays with Mé event every Monday from now till the end of June 2021 at 1pm EST on our Facebook page!
We have many more exciting virtual learning programs and projects in the works, so stay tuned and follow our social media pages to stay up to date on all things current with Arts For All!
