Empowering Local Leaders

The power of the Girl Fund goes far beyond financial support—it also builds collaboration and capacity among our grantees. In April, we brought together our newest cohort of Girl Fund members for a powerful convening where grantees came together to connect, share, and learn from one another.

• Menstrual and reproductive health, information, and dignity in Tanzania, Sudan, and Mexico (Msichana Imara Foundation, Strategic Initiatives in the Horn of Africa, Ipas Mexico)
• Education, career training, mentorship, and empowerment in Afghanistan, Nigeria, and Nepal (Sahar Education, Girl Child Art Foundation, Tewa, Boys Mentoring Advocacy Network). 
• Advocacy, movement building, and grantmaking for gender justice in Afghanistan, Kenya, Hong Kong, and the U.S. (MADRE, HER Foundation, Urgent Action Fund for Feminist Activists).
• Innovative Programs combating gender-based violence and expanding opportunities for women and girls
• Cross-Border Collaboration among organizations facing similar challenges in different regions
• Strategic Advocacy efforts that amplify local voices in the global conversation on gender equality
